SEARCH FOR 2019 MODEL OFW FAMILY OF THE YEAR AWARD
1. OBJECTIVES
a. To give proper recognition to the outstanding achievements of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and their families, and serve as the role models for their whole OFW population;
b. To promote success stories about the OFW Families’ endurance over the challenges on their family relations and uplift the image of the OFW families in the community;
c. To highlight the role of the OFW family acting as a group/unit in the attainment of socio-civic, educational, professional and material success.
2. NOMINATION CRITERIA
a. The family is headed by an OFW, land-based or sea- based, formerly or presently working abroad, with contract of employment or work permit and with proof of OWWA membership;
b. The OFW has at least four (4) years work experience;
c. The OFW has returned to the country for good for no longer than 10 years at the time of nomination
d. No derogatory record
e. The OFW family is known as a solid and stable family in the locality; and
f. The OFW family is financially stable.
The following group may nominate an OFW family:
a. Any non- government organization (NGO);
b. People’s organization;
c. Religious organizations or associations;
d. Community- based socio-civic organizations/associations; and
e. Local Government Units (LGU)
No individual nomination shall be accepted
Deadline for nomination: April 2019
Documentary Requirements (attached forms)
a. MOFYA nomination form
b. Certificate of family solidarity
c. Additional supporting information & documents (pictures, photocopy of certifications, etc.)
d. Survey questionnaire
3. SELECTION CRITERIA
a. Wholesome OFW Family 50%
b. Civic/Community involvement of OFW 20%
c. Success in children’s or family member/s’ education 20%
d. Success in managing Family Finances 10%
