Timpuyog 2026 Strengthens Education Partnerships in Candon City

Smart Governance | Education for EveryONE

I had the honor of representing Governor Jerry Singson during the Timpuyog 2026 Local Stakeholders’ Convergence organized by the Department of Education – Schools Division of Candon City on 2 September 2026 at the Candon Civic Center, Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

The convergence brought together government leaders, education stakeholders, community partners, and various sectors committed to strengthening collaboration in addressing education gaps and creating better opportunities for every learner.

On behalf of Governor Jerry Singson and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur, I reaffirmed our continued support for initiatives that strengthen education partnerships, empower learners, and contribute to a more inclusive and responsive education system.

I was also honored to be with Schools Division Superintendent Gemma Tacuycuy, Candon City Mayor Eric Singson, city officials, education personnel, and fellow stakeholders who share the same commitment to advancing education in our communities.

Through Timpuyog, we are reminded that meaningful progress in education is made stronger when government, schools, communities, and partners work together toward one shared goal—creating greater opportunities for every learner.

Honored to have attended Siglat Iskwela 2026, where the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur recognized and celebrated 1,989 awardees on August 13, 2026, at the CHAVIT Coliseum in Vigan City.

The program was led by Governor Jeremias “Jerry” C. Singson, who reaffirmed the provincial government’s continued support for the education sector. The event was also attended by Vice Governor Ryan Luis Singson and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

A highlight of the program was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Danilo B. Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED Regional Office 1, who emphasized the vital role of education in achieving long-term community growth and development.

Congratulations to all 1,989 awardees for their hard work, dedication, and achievements. Your success is an inspiration to the Ilocos Sur community. 🎓👏

Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and in view of the Heavy Rainfall Warnings issued by PAGASA relative to the continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon, government offices in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, and Occidental Mindoro are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on 18 August 2026.

Agencies delivering basic and health services, disaster preparedness/response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services. Alternative learning modes shall be implemented for classes at all levels in public and private schools in the aforementioned areas.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.
