The Local Legislative Award (LLA) is a prestigious program jointly led by the Vice Mayorโs League of the Philippines (VMLP), the PCL, and the DILG. It is designed to recognize the exemplary performance of legislative bodies at the provincial, city, and municipal levels for their effectiveness in creating local ordinances and resolutions.
The award evaluates legislative bodies on their performance in local governance, including legislative measures that contribute to administrative governance, local development, and the community's social, economic, and environmental well-being, along with best practices and innovations. The LLA encourages local legislative bodies to strive for excellence and accountability in their public service.
In his opening remarks, Councilor Catipunan emphasized that the local sanggunianโs participation in this term-based endeavor is not solely about winning but also about gathering insights and recommendations or feedback that will help the legislative department and the august chamber further improve the services they offer to the community.
Having no contender in the Province of Negros Occidental for the 4th to 6th Class Municipality Category, Candoni will automatically advance to the Regional Evaluation.
