An investigation can be successful only if it is conducted in a sequential and thorough manner. Knowledge of the basic criminal laws, investigative principles, case preparation methods, and the procedures of the criminal justice system is most essential to investigators. For one, procedures on crime scene operations and evidence handling must be constantly accessed, and revised if necessary, in order to enhance investigative work.

A new chapter of leadership began as the officers of CRIDEC Class 2026-01, Alpha to Echo Companies, were formally inducted on August 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

PCOL (ATTY) Ercy Nanette P. Madriaga, DPSSG, Director, National Forensic Science Training Institute (NFSTI), served as the Inducting Officer, formally recognizing the newly designated class officers and entrusting them with the responsibilities that come with their leadership roles.

The ceremony emphasized the values of leadership, accountability, discipline, and commitment to service as the officers take on the responsibility of guiding their respective companies throughout the course of their training.

On July 15, 2026, the National Forensic Science Training Institute (NFSTI) officially welcomed 176 students during the Opening Ceremony of the Crime Investigation and Detection Course (CRIDEC) Class 2026-02.

The participants come from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)โ€”represented by the Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Army (PA), and Philippine Navy (PN)โ€”the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and lawyers.

As they begin their training journey, the participants will undergo specialized instruction designed to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and competencies in crime investigation and detection in support of effective law enforcement and public safety service.
