continues to strengthen youth engagement through sports with the successful construction and installation of new basketball backboards in four puroks across the barangay.

This initiative aims to provide young athletes with safer and more accessible sports facilities, encouraging active participation in recreational activities while promoting teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among the youth. The project reflects the SK's commitment to creating opportunities that support both the physical development and well-being of young people in the community.

The installation of the basketball backboards was made possible through the collective efforts of volunteers, community members, and local supporters who shared the vision of enhancing sports facilities within the barangay.

A special acknowledgment is extended to Thomas Lavapie for generously donating a trunk of wood that was used in the construction of the basketball backboard in Sitio Pangpang. His contribution played a significant role in the successful completion of the project and demonstrated the spirit of community cooperation that continues to drive development initiatives in Poblacion Sur.

The newly installed backboards are expected to benefit numerous young residents by providing them with a proper venue to practice, compete, and develop their athletic skills. POBLACION SUR, SIGMA, CAPIZ — A new chapter of youth leadership officially began as the officers of the Poblacion Sur Youth Organization (PSYO) took their oath of office in a meaningful ceremony presided over by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐌. 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫.

Recognizing the everyday struggles of students in printing school requirements, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Poblacion Sur proudly introduces Project P.A.G.E.S. — Printing Assistance for Greater Educational Success, a free printing initiative dedicated to helping learners continue their academic journey without worry.

Starting this June 06, 2026, Project P.A.G.E.S. aims to provide students with accessible printing assistance for assignments, projects, reviewers, and other educational materials. What may seem like simple sheets of paper can mean completed requirements, passed subjects, reduced stress, and renewed confidence for many students striving to succeed.

In today’s fast-paced academic environment, not all learners have the privilege of owning printers or spending daily on computer shop services. Through this initiative, the SK Council hopes to lessen the financial burden carried by students and families while promoting equal opportunities in education.

More than a service, Project P.A.G.E.S. is a movement of compassion and youth empowerment. It reflects the commitment of the youth leaders to create programs that truly respond to the needs of the community. Every printed document becomes a reminder that the youth of Poblacion Sur are not alone in their pursuit of education.

The outreach program gathered student leaders, volunteers, and community members who united with one goal to serve and inspire the youth of Poblacion Sur. The event officially opened with preliminaries and a welcome message delivered by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐌. 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫, 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲, who expressed gratitude to the organizers and encouraged everyone to continue supporting programs that promote compassion and community involvement.

As part of the continuous celebration of FLP Week 2026, Day 4 highlighted the importance of environmental responsibility through the FLPaninlo Clean-Up Drive conducted in partnership with the Municipality of Sigma and CAPENRO.

The activity gathered passionate young volunteers, leaders, and advocates who united with one mission to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, and community involvement. Through this initiative, participants were reminded that leadership is not only about influence, but also about serving and protecting the environment for future generations.

In collaboration with the Capiz Eco Youth Volunteers – CapSU Sigma Chapter, the activity became a meaningful movement that encouraged the youth to take action and become responsible stewards of nature. 🌱
