Carigara Culminates Lingo ng Kabataan and Buwan ng Wika Celebrations.

CARIGARA, LEYTE — The Municipality of Carigara culminated its celebration of Lingo ng Kabataan and Buwan ng Wika on August 28, 2026, at the Kangara Gymnasium, starting at 5:00 PM.

The celebration featured engaging activities showcasing the talent, creativity, confidence, and voices of the youth, including Ginoo at Binibining Lingo ng Kabataan, Sining sa Sabayang Pagbigkas, and Boses han Kabataan. Gracing the occasion was no less than Carigara Mayor Eduardo T. Ong Jr. who emphasized the critical role of the youth in nation building. Mr. Ronnie Onrejas, Local Youth Development Officer formally welcomes the participants and guests saying that the celebration of the Youth Week and Buwan ng Wika are significant milestones in the journey towards a sense of community.

Meanwhile, LGOOII Ma. Diana A. Palma of DILG Carigara also addressed the guests and participants, stressing on the huge contributions that the Sanguniang Kabataan continually gives to the municipality through its solid support and cooperation in all activities. The event was also a brainchild of SK federation President Daniel Ariaso.

The activity highlighted the Municipality’s continuing commitment to providing meaningful avenues for the youth to express themselves, celebrate Filipino language and culture, and actively participate in community life.

CARIGARA, LEYTE — The Municipal Joint Security Control Center Task Force was formally organized on August 19, 2026 at the COMELEC Carigara Office, headed by Election Officer Dexter Dacillo, as part of the Municipality's preparations for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on November 2, 2026.

The Task Force is composed of members of the Carigara DILG Family, including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and the Office of the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), duly represented by Mr. Dave Nival, Barangay Development Staff, DILG Carigara, together with representatives from the Philippine Army based in Tinaguban, Carigara, and the Philippine Coast Guard - Carigara.

The establishment of the Task Force aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, security preparedness, information sharing, and rapid response mechanisms to help ensure a safe, peaceful, orderly, and credible conduct of the 2026 BSKE in the Municipality of Carigara.

CARIGARA, LEYTE — The Municipality of Carigara hosted the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Regional Local Governance Champions Assessment on August 18, 2026 at the Carigara Roof Deck.

The assessment provided an opportunity to evaluate the Municipality’s governance practices, accomplishments, and compliance with the prescribed SGLG indicators. Municipal officials and department heads participated in the assessment and presented the necessary documents and evidence in support of the Municipality’s performance.

The activity underscores the Municipality of Carigara’s continuing commitment to good governance, transparency, accountability, and responsive delivery of public services.

The DILG Leyte Provincial Office conducted under the leadership of Provincial Director Johannes Y. Dorado its monthly Conference cm Target Setting, Sub-LGRC Meeting, Cluster Meeting, and Cultural, Health, and Wellness Activity today, August 28, 2026, held via the Zoom platform.

DILG Field Officers and provincial office personnel attended the event which focused on administrative and reporting requirements, including financial status, IPCR target setting, PDMU updates, and various program deliverables.

The conference also highlighted the awarding of Best Performing Field Operating Units (FOUs) and cluster meetings across different districts. The cluster meeting for the 2nd District of Leyte was led by Cluster Head Estela I. Creer, who provided guidance and reminders on report compliance and preparations for upcoming activities.

DILG Carigara Field Office Joins Regional Virtual Forum on CSO Engagement and Local People’s Council Assessment

CARIGARA, LEYTE — August 26, 2026 — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Carigara Field Office participated in the regional learning session, "EPISODE 1: PAG-BAID: Voices in Action on CSO Academy, Grant Opportunities, Policy Frameworks, and LPC Self-Assessment," held virtually on August 26, 2026.

IN PHOTOS │ Little Mayor Abegail Lloren paid a courtesy visit to the DILG Carigara Office, where she engaged with MLGOO Ma. Cecinia V. Ragay, Jra. during her immersion in the functions and responsibilities of local government.

Lloren, a Grade 8 student of Carigara National Vocational School, is set to observe the day-to-day functions of a Municipal Mayor as part of the activities for Linggo ng Kabataan 2026. She was accompanied by Carigara Mayor Hon. Eduardo Ong, Jr., who introduced her to the DILG Carigara team.

The initiative provides young Kalgaran-on with an opportunity to gain firsthand insights into local governance, leadership, and public service while encouraging meaningful youth participation in the community.
