Key officials of LGU Carigara participated in the Child-Sensitive Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) Project Policy Enhancement Workshop held on May 13–14, 2026 at Quest Hotel, Cebu City. The activity gathered representatives from various local government units and partner agencies to strengthen policies and strategies promoting child-sensitive and climate-resilient communities.

The two-day workshop focused on enhancing local capacities in integrating child-centered approaches in climate risk assessment, disaster preparedness, and development planning. Participants engaged in discussions, policy reviews, and collaborative workshops aimed at improving local governance responses to climate-related vulnerabilities affecting children and communities.

In Eastern Visayas, only four LGUs were handpicked as pilot municipalities of the project, namely, Alangalang in Leyte and Sulat and San Julian in Eastern Samar. LGU Carigara reaffirmed its commitment to advancing disaster resilience, child protection, and sustainable local development initiatives.

DILG LEYTE CLUSTER 2 STRENGTHENS CAMARADERIE IN WELLNESS AND TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITY

In a proactive effort to promote a healthy workplace and foster stronger ties among field personnel, the DILG Leyte Cluster 2 successfully conducted its Wellness and Team-Building Activity on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Casa Marcos Resort in Pastrana, Leyte.

The activity was spearheaded by Cluster Head Estela I. Creer and attended by MLGOO Ma. Cecinia V. Ragay of DILG Carigara alongside other DILG field officers within the second district.

By investing in the health and morale of its workforce, DILG Leyte Cluster 2 continues to champion an efficient, resilient, and highly motivated team dedicated to serving the public with excellence.

The Joint Inspectorate Team of Carigara, Leyte conducted inspections today of various business establishments in the LGU to ensure compliance with local ordinances, regulatory standards, and public safety requirements. The activity focused on verifying valid business permits, adherence to sanitation and fire safety regulations, and observance of other operational guidelines necessary to safeguard the welfare of the public.
Business owners and operators were likewise reminded to maintain compliance with existing laws and regulations to help foster a safe, orderly, and business-friendly environment in the municipality. The inspection underscores the continued commitment of the local government and partner agencies in promoting accountability, public safety, and responsible business operations through strengthened inter-agency coordination.

A nationwide online webinar on the Presidential Assistance to Barangays under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF), dubbed the “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Project,” was conducted today to orient mayors, vice mayors, Punong Barangays and local government officials in general on the implementation guidelines, fund utilization, and reporting mechanisms of the program. The webinar highlighted the national government’s commitment to strengthening barangays through direct financial assistance intended for community development initiatives, educational support, and essential frontline services.

Participating barangay officials from across Carigara were encouraged to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in the implementation of projects that will directly benefit their constituents.

The 3rd Batch of the Barangay Development Planning (BDP) in the Municipality of Carigara, Leyte officially commenced today, marking an important step toward strengthening grassroots governance and participatory development.
