18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women | BANGON PILAR

This advocacy campaign was launched through the collaboration of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Gender and Development (GAD) Office, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Arnold A. Perez , Vice Mayor Antonio L. Bargo Jr. and Sangguniang Bayan Members.

This initiative was made possible through a collaborative meeting with Barangay VAW Desk Officers and the strategic planning of advocacy activities across all 24 barangays of Pilar.

Anchored on the theme “BANGON PILAR,” a PNP-led initiative aimed at preventing incidents of r**e through the Laudable Anti-Rape Initiative, the campaign draws meaning from Pilar—a name symbolizing womanhood—and Bangon, the administration’s six-point agenda that calls for empowerment and action.

BANGON PILAR means “Rise, Woman.”
It is a call for women to stand up, speak out, seek help, and protect themselves—not to remain silent, but to ACT.

Together, we strengthen our commitment to end violence, protect women and girls, and build a safer and more empowered Pilar for all.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office, under the leadership of Mayor Arnold A. Perez and Vice Mayor Antonio L. Bargo, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (DSWD-RJJWC), successfully conducted a two-day training on the Formulation of a Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan.

The activity was held on August 27 - 28 at Barangay Barosbos, Carles, Iloilo, and was actively participated in by the Municipal Planning and Development Office, Gender and Development (GAD), Department of Education (DepEd), Land Transportation Office (LTO), PNP–Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC), barangay officials, secretaries, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) desk officers, and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) officers.

We, the Local Government Unit of Pilar, Capiz joins the Regional Alternative Child Care Office 6 in celebrating the 3rd Adoption and Alternative Child Care Week, with the theme “Hope and Home for Every Child.”

We fully support the advocacy to promote legal adoption and alternative child care.

The Municipality of Pilar headed by Hon. Arnold A.Perez,Municipal Mayor and Hon. Doujie Jack Cantiller,Municipal Vice Mayor hold Nutrition Month Celebration today July 29,2022 at Pilar Civic Center. This is an annual activity participated by Municipal & Brgy. Nutrition Council.
Nutrition Activity was participated by 39 Child Development Workers in 24 Barangays,Brgy. Nutrition Scholars,Parents & Brgy. Officials.
The activity was successfully done thru the efforts of the MSWD Staff & MHO staff.
