The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cotabato Province, through Negosyo Center Carmen, conducted a Product Development Seminar on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Packaging and Labeling Enhancement for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Carmen.
Held at the ABC Hall of the Municipal Building, the activity gathered 10 food and non-food MSMEs aiming to strengthen their knowledge on product development, food safety, and branding strategies.
Ramgie Sarmiento, the newly designated Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer (LEDIPO), welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of continuously supporting local MSMEs through capability-building activities and product innovation initiatives.
Junior Business Counselor Sammy P. Andres discussed proper packaging and labeling, highlighting the significance of attractive, informative, and compliant product packaging in increasing product marketability and building consumer trust.
Trade Industry Development Specialist โ Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (TIDS-CARP) Petsy Mae B. Bundoc facilitated the discussion on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety. She emphasized the importance of cleanliness, proper handling, and quality control in ensuring safe, high-quality products for consumers.
The activity aimed to enhance the competitiveness of local MSMEs by equipping them with practical strategies and essential knowledge on product development, food safety standards, and effective packaging and labeling practices.
As part of the seminar, participants were also provided with free logo and label design services to further improve the branding and presentation of their products.
Through initiatives like this, DTI Cotabato continues to empower MSMEs by strengthening their capabilities, improving product quality and presentation, and supporting the development of competitive and sustainable local enterprises. -end-
