UPDATE
The Catmon Tourism Office informs the public that Mt. Kapayas is now officially REOPENED to visitors.
Mt. Kapayas was temporarily closed following the earthquake and successive typhoons to allow for a thorough safety assessment. As an ecotourism site, the area was also given time to naturally recover and regenerate ensuring environmental conservation, protection and visitor safety.
After careful evaluation, Mt. Kapayas is now ready to welcome trekkers and nature enthusiasts once again.
Visitors are reminded to:
✅ Register at the Catmon Municipal Hall prior to climbing and trekking activities
✅ To all solo or group trekker/ climbers particularly to those organizers, please be reminded that you need to log-in first and fill up the waiver form after the mandatory orientation conducted at the Municipal Social Hall of LGU Catmon before going to the jump off area.
✅ You are all reminded also to follow our regulations on the maximum number of capacity of trekker/ climber per group for us to designate appropriate number of accredited guides.
✅ Observe all safety guidelines and trail regulations
✅ Practice responsible tourism and proper waste management
Together, let us protect and preserve Mt. Kapayas by practicing safe, responsible, and sustainable tourism.
