SUCCESSFUL LAUNCHING OF THE CARMEN LGU HEALTHY WORKPLACE INITIATIVE

The Local Government Unit of Carmen marked the successful launching of its Healthy Workplace Initiative, kicking off the program with a high-energy Pickleball Tournament at Carmen Municipal gymnasium, May 21, 2026 to promote physical wellness and camaraderie among public servants.

Headed by Mayor Rogelio T. Taliño, who was capably represented by Hon. Ivy Carolino Pobre, Chairperson on Health and Social Services, the event enjoyed the full support of Vice Mayor Roger Ryan Taliño. Implemented in close coordination with the Gender and Development (GAD) Council, the GAD Focal Person, and the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), the initiative institutionalized employee welfare and inclusive wellness. It also aligned with national lineages advocating for holistic health among civil servants and uniform personnel, such as the Philippine National Police (PNP) fitness frameworks.

The successful launching saw an impressive turnout, actively participated in by the different offices of the local government unit alongside the vibrant membership of CCLguae, Inc. (Carmen Combined LGU Employees Association). Stepping away from daily bureaucratic tasks, representatives from the various municipal departments traded pens for paddles, diving into friendly but intense competition.

Beyond the thrilling rallies, the tournament broke down departmental silos, boosted morale, and fostered an inclusive culture of health. This milestone achievement underscores that a healthy, equitable workforce across all local government offices is the backbone of excellent governance. Employees returned to their stations re-energized and more unified to serve the community of Carmen.

CARMEN, COTABATO – The recently concluded Summer Kids Peace Camp (SKPC) 2026 stands as a testament to the strong, unified, and compassionate leadership of the Province of Cotabato and the Municipality of Carmen.

Under the visionary leadership of Governor Emmylou "Lala" Taliño-Mendoza, the protection and welfare of the youth have been placed as a top priority. This noble mission is fully supported by Vice Governor Rochella Marie "Ella" Taliño-Taray and Congresswoman Samantha Santos, ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to grow in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

In the Municipality of Carmen, this initiative was brought to life through the efforts of Mayor Rogelio Taliño, Vice Mayor Roger Ryan Taliño, and the honorable members of the Sangguniang Bayan and the heads of offices. They worked hand-in-hand with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), headed by Mr. Rahib Abas, RSW.

A vital force behind the success of the activity was the Gender and Development (GAD) Council of Carmen Cotabato, which ensured that principles of equality, inclusivity, and non-discrimination were at the heart of every activity. This endeavor was made possible through the strong collaboration of the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), the Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC), and various partner agencies.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the supportive parents who placed their trust in this program and allowed their children to participate.

Throughout the camp, Social Workers Reymark Daquiado, RSW, Shella May Peralta, RSW, Myra Leopoldo, LPT, RSW and Melisa Campong, RSW together with dedicated teachers and student volunteers, emphasized the importance of Republic Act No. 11930 (Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children Law) and the fundamental rights of every child.

By working together—leaders, agencies, educators, and families—we are not just building memories; we are building a safer, more peaceful, and brighter future for the next generation.
