𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Student Journalists from the Special Program in Journalism (SPJ) Grade 9 of Carrascal National High School conducted an interview with LDRRM Officer Mrs. Christine Marie Arreza-Intano, MDC, as part of their journalistic output concerning the forest fire incidents that occurred on September 13–15, 2026 in the barangays of Gamuton, Bacolod, and Panikian, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.

The activity provided the students with relevant information on the incident, disaster response measures, and community preparedness, supporting their efforts to promote accurate and responsible disaster-related reporting

Tungod sa maong deklarasyon ug sumala sa Executive Order NO. 39, 2026 ni Mayor Joseph L. Urgel, 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 na usab an Carrascal Emergency Operations Center (EOC) nga nagpasabot pagbalik o shift sa normal nga operations.
Bisan pa sa pag-deactivate sa EOC, padayon gihapon ang monitoring. Pinaagi sa Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), gimanduan and Carrascal Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), uban sa Carrascal Nickel Corporation (CNC) ug Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) Emergency Response Teams (ERTs), nga 𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐮𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧.
Nagpahayag usab ang Local Government Unit of Carrascal sa kinasingkasing nga pagpasalamat sa tanang responders, partner agencies, emergency response teams gikan Carrascal Nickel Corporation (CNC) , CTP Construction and Mining Corporation (CTP-CMC), Kafugan Mining Incorporated (KMI), Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) ug Strong Group Mining Corp. (SGMC), volunteers, ug mga Carrascalanon nga mitabang sa fire suppression ug response operations.
Under control na ang sitwasyon, apan padayon ang atong pagbantay ug pag-amping.

As of 7:00 AM, September 15, 2026, the Carrascal Emergency Operations Center (EOC) continues coordinated response and fire suppression operations in its fourth operational period, with responders and resources remaining deployed in affected areas.

The community is likewise assured that the Local Government Unit, together with its response partners, remains fully mobilized in the continuing fire suppression, monitoring, and coordinated response operations.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Carrascal has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in response to the continuing forest fire incident affecting the areas of Barangays Gamuton, Bacolod, and Panikian.

The incident, which began yesterday, prompted the immediate deployment of responders and concerned personnel. Response operations have continued into the present as the fire persists and the affected area continues to expand, requiring sustained monitoring, coordination, and resource mobilization.

Tonight, the EOC convened an emergency coordination meeting led by Planning Coordinator EnP Casey Maureen A. Correos, focusing on the latest situation updates, response operations, resource requirements, personnel deployment, and coordination among concerned response groups and partner organizations.

The MDRRMC Carrascal expresses its sincere appreciation to all EOC personnel, responders, and partner mining companies CNC, CTP, MMDC, SGMC, and VTP for their continued support, manpower, equipment, and resources in the ongoing forest fire response.

This continuing operation reflects Carrascal’s commitment to swift coordination, sustained emergency response, and the protection of communities and the environment.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Responders promptly assisted the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Carrascal in responding to a fire incident reported at Ave Maria, Barangay Bacolod, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, at approximately 1:25 PM this afternoon.

Through the immediate coordination and rapid response of the concerned responders, appropriate fire suppression and safety measures were carried out to help prevent the fire from further spreading to nearby areas.

The MDRRMO expresses its heartfelt appreciation to the individual who immediately reported the incident. Your prompt action and vigilance played an important role in ensuring that the fire was reported early, allowing responders to act quickly and helping prevent the situation from becoming more serious.

In celebration of the 126th Civil Service Anniversary, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Carrascal actively participated in the Municipal Clean Up Drive.

The activity was attended by the Administrative Section of the MDRRMO, headed by Mrs. Christine Marie Arreza-Intano, MDC, whose leadership continues to inspire personnel to uphold the values of service, teamwork, discipline, and responsibility.

Through collective action and volunteerism, the MDRRMO joins the local government in promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Carrascal proving that true public service goes beyond the workplace and extends to caring for the community we serve.

MDRRMO of Carrascal successfully conducted the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for CY 2026, through the leadership of LDRRM Officer Mrs. Christine Marie Arreza-Intano, MDC.

The activity was participated in by the Carrascal Primary Health Care Facility (CPHCF), providing personnel with an opportunity to practice the proper moves, actions, and safety procedures during an earthquake, particularly the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” response and other emergency protocols.

The MDRRMO extends its sincere appreciation to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Carrascal, through OIC SFO3 Stephen O. Lugo, for their valuable support and participation, and to the Municipal Health Office, through Municipal Health Officer Dr. Eleanor Gwendale Uriarte-Cotares, for their continued commitment to strengthening emergency preparedness and response.

The drill reminds us that preparedness begins with practice. Every movement practiced, every procedure followed, and every response strengthened brings us one step closer to a safer, more prepared, and resilient Carrascal.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Carrascal successfully conducted its monthly office meeting today, bringing together personnel to strengthen coordination, accountability, and teamwork in the continuous delivery of Disaster risk reduction and emergency response services.

The meeting focused on various office concerns, including employee status and performance, attendance and absenteeism, as well as the respective duties and key functions of every personnel, particularly among responders and administrative staff.

Each section also presented updates on their accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, reports, and upcoming activities, ensuring that all personnel remain aligned with the office's goals and priorities.

Section updates were presented by:

• Administrative Section – Mr. Reycar U. Ulvida and Ms. Joana Irene Aguipo
• Research and Planning Section – Ms. Michelle Jean Sarzuelo
• Training Section – Mr. Althy C. Burlat
• Operations and Warning Section – Mr. Antonio R. Tesado Jr.

The meeting was spearheaded by the LDRRM Officer, Mrs. Christine Marie Arreza-Intano, MDC, who emphasized the importance of responsibility, professionalism, effective coordination, and commitment among all MDRRMO personnel.

Through regular meetings and continuous collaboration, MDRRMO Carrascal remains committed to improving its internal operations and strengthening its capacity to serve and protect the people.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In response to the ongoing and anticipated multi-sectoral impacts of El Niño and the severe dry spell across the Caraga Region, the Alert Status of the Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (RDRRMOC) is raised from White to 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬, effective September 08, 2026, at 12:00 PM (1200H).
This operational shift is directed to ensure inter-agency coordination, continuous monitoring, heightened preparedness and immediate response capabilities for all related incidents.
