APECO President & CEO Usec. Gil G. Taway IV will be joining senior government officials, port authorities, terminal operators, shipping lines, logistics providers, cargo owners, and technology innovators from from Southeast Asia for the ASEAN Ports and Logistics 2026, the region's leading annual exhibition and conference dedicated to ports, shipping, transport, and logistics.

At the conference, Usec. Taway will promote the Casiguran-based economic zone to ASEAN stakeholders as the region's new gateway to the Pacific.

APECO will also pitch the Casiguran International New Port, a flagship project of the Authority, to attract investments for this critical infrastructure in the eastern seaboard of the Philippines.

APECOโ€™s participation in this premier regional platform reflects the growing recognition of its strategic location and development potential across the Asia Pacific region as global and regional stakeholders seek new gateways and emerging investment destinations amid the global supply chain diversification.

APECO is closely collaborating with Department of Science and Technology โ€“ Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) to strengthen and promote the textile sector of Aurora Province.

Both agencies are now looking into conducting capacity building activities as well as technology transfer and facility support that will help the local community in the province.

This initiative is part of APECO's push for inclusive growth, ensuring that economic development will be felt by all stakeholders including the local communities and the Indigenous Peoples.

APECO President and CEO Usec. Gil G. Taway IV paid a courtesy visit to Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Datoโ€™ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino on June 4, 2026 in preparation for the agency's investment mission to Kuala Lumpur on July 7โ€“10, 2026.

The investment mission aims to attract Malaysian investments in logistics and port development, airport expansion, renewable energy, agro-industrial processing, and halal sector, while also positioning the Philippines as a potential LNG infrastructure hub in support of ASEANโ€™s energy security and transition agenda.

APECO and the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last May 21 to advance the use of the PPP model in accelerating infrastructure-led growth in Aurora Province.

Signed by APECO President and CEO Usec. Gil G. Taway IV and PPP Center Executive Director Usec. Rizza Blanco-Latorre, the partnership strengthens efforts to develop bankable, investment-ready projects that will mobilize private sector participation in major infrastructure led by the investment promotion agency.

Through the PPP framework, Aurora is set to benefit from faster delivery of key projects such as the Casiguran International New Port and the Casiguran International Airport, alongside a stronger pipeline of investments that will drive jobs, connectivity, and long-term regional economic growth.

APECO President and CEO Usec. Gil G. Taway IV, together with Business Development and Marketing Department Manager Gene Angelo P. Ferrer, visited the Amerasia International Terminal Services, Inc. (AITSI) facility in Subic following an initial exploratory meeting between the Authority and the cargo handling services firm on June 2, 2026.

The visit aimed to further discuss potential opportunities for warehousing and logistics operations of Amerasia that may be established in APECO, in line with agency's goal of positioning the Casiguran-based ecozone as the Gateway to the Pacific.

The APECO delegation was warmly received by Amerasia President Mario Lorenzo Yapjoco and Executive Vice President Jay Valdez, who toured the team around the facility and explained their operations in Subic.

APECO President & CEO Usec. Gil G. Taway IV met with DM Wenceslao and Associates, Inc. (DMWAI) CEO Delfin Angelo โ€œBudsโ€ Wenceslao on June 4, 2026 at Parqal, a mixed-use development in Aseana City, Paraรฑaque City developed by DMWAI, where the APECO Manila satellite office is likewise located.

During the meeting, Usec. Taway presented the business and investment opportunities within the ecozone in Casiguran, Aurora, highlighting its strategic location, available development areas, and its long-term direction of building a sustainable and competitive investment hub in Northern Luzon.
