‎The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), assisted by PESO Cataingan team [Renalyn Claridad, Christine Raboy, Marve Baklayan, Catalino Ygot III], successfully conducted the Orientation for 28 TUPAD Beneficiaries from Barangays Gahit, Concepcion, and San Pedro in Cataingan, as well as Barangay Mahayag, Placer, today, May 28, 2026.
‎
‎The orientation discussed the guidelines, responsibilities, work implementation, and benefits under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program. Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) were also distributed by DOLE to the beneficiaries.

‎PESO Cataingan also extends its appreciation to Sandro T. Labao, Research Assistant of NIA, together with TUPAD Program Coordinators John Anthony A. Coyuca and Jess S. Gebilaguin, for their assistance in the successful conduct of the activity.

DOLE and PESO staff conducted the Child Profiling at Barangay Osmeña, Estampar, Domorog, and Poblacion for the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) last May 20-21, 2026.
‎
‎The profiling activity serves as an important step in identifying and assessing children who may be exposed to child labor situations, ensuring that appropriate interventions, assistance, and opportunities may be provided for their welfare, protection, and development. Through this initiative, the program continues its commitment to safeguarding the rights of children and promoting a safer and better future for the youth in the community.

‎This activity reflects the continued commitment of DOLE and PESO Cataingan in preventing and eliminating child labor through proper profiling and intervention efforts. SPES 2026 Second Batch Orientation and Deployment conducted by PESO Cataingan on May 14, 2026 with 21 SPES Babies officially deployed to different offices under the Local Government Unit of Cataingan.

This deployment marks another meaningful step in providing employment opportunities and valuable work experience to the youth of Cataingan through the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

The successful implementation of SPES 2026, now with a total of 40 beneficiaries compared to the previous 30 beneficiaries, reflects the continued commitment of the Local Government Unit in empowering young individuals through employment and skills development. This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Mayor Maasahan, Hon. Alvin C. Adoptante, whose dedication to creating opportunities for the youth continues to make a lasting impact in our community.

PESO Cataingan also extends its gratitude to all partner offices and personnel who continuously support the successful deployment and implementation of the SPES Program for the benefit of our SPES Babies.

SPES 2026 Orientation conducted by PESO Cataingan Manager, Kristeen Mae B. Lee, on April 30, 2026 for the first batch of PESO Cataingan's SPES Implementation for this year of 2026 with 18 SPES Babies, all continuing beneficiaries of the program.

The next batch of 22 beneficiaries will soon be oriented with the guidance of the Department of Labor and Employment(DOLE)'s Notice to Proceed.

The number of SPES beneficiaries has increased from 30 in previous year implementation to 40 beneficiaries this 2026—a meaningful step forward in empowering our youth through employment and skills development, a milestone that would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Mayor Maasahan, Hon. Alvin C. Adoptante, whose commitment to creating more opportunities for young individuals continues to make a lasting impact in our community.

April 27-28, 2026. The 2-Day TESDA NC III Assessment for Events Management Services was successfully conducted by TESDA Assessor, Sir Romnick Ramos Jerusalem, and monitored by Masbate Institute of Fisheries and Technology(MIFT) through Engr. Eliza M. Conrado, at Catnafi Agri-Development Institute & Assessment Center Inc.-CADIACI, Domorog, Cataingan, Masbate, a valued partner Technical Vocational Institution (TVI) of the Local Government Unit of Cataingan. A total of 11 MIFT-Events Management Services graduates, taught by MIFT TESDA Trainer Mr. Argio B. Palanas III, underwent the competency assessment, showcasing their knowledge, creativity, and professional readiness.

Out of the 11 candidates, 6 were declared competent and have officially earned their NC III Certification—a testament to their hard work, dedication, and advanced technical skills.
