On April 10, 2026, the 16th Special Forces Company successfully conducted a West Philippine Sea Awareness Campaign aimed at reinforcing the importance of protecting national sovereignty and promoting informed, vigilant citizenship in support of national security.

In line with this initiative, the Community Action for Resiliency and Emergency Support (CARES) Training was also carried out in Barangays Macabari, Layog, Putiao, Paghaluban, and Mapapac in Barcelona, Sorsogon. The activity was facilitated by the 16th Special Forces Company, 4th Special Forces Battalion, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), Special Operations Command, Philippine Army, in coordination with local stakeholders. It brought together barangay officials, tanods, and Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) to strengthen disaster preparedness, enhance emergency response capabilities, and build community resilience through a combination of lectures and hands-on practical exercises.

Through these efforts, the unit continues to foster patriotism, readiness, and resilience—empowering communities to actively contribute to nation-building and national security. 🇵🇭

The 16th Special Forces Company successfully conducted the Community Action for Resiliency and Emergency Support (CARES) Training on March 28–29, 2026, in the barangays of San Ramon, Santa Cruz, and Bangate, Barcelona, Sorsogon. The activity aimed to enhance community preparedness and strengthen the capability of residents in responding effectively to emergencies, disasters, and crisis situations.

In conjunction with the training, a West Philippine Sea Awareness Campaign was also conducted to educate participants on the importance of protecting the country’s sovereignty and maritime resources. Through engaging discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions, participants actively shared their insights and gained a deeper understanding of their role as responsible citizens in supporting national security and resilience.

The activity was attended by barangay officials, barangay tanods, barangay health workers (BHWs), youth, and community members, who were equipped with essential knowledge in disaster response, first aid, and coordination.
