Ngayong linggo, ipinagdiriwang natin ang ika-48 National Disability Rights Week na may temang, “Rights First, Legislation Forward - Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development".

Katuwang ang ating Sangguniang Panlalawigan, mga kinatawan sa Kongreso, at Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office, palalakasin at isusulong natin ang mga batas at programang magbibigay ng higit na proteksyon sa karapatan ng mga Persons with Disabilities, lalaban sa anumang uri ng diskriminasyon, at magtataguyod ng isang tunay na inklusibo at makataong probinsya.

📢 NCDA Unified PWD ID System Rollout Training Catarman, Northern Samar - On June 30, 2026, the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Northern Samar, together with representatives from the Local Government Units of San Jose, Capul, Lavezares, Laoang, Mondragon, and Pambujan, actively participated in the NCDA Unified PWD ID System Rollout Training held at the DSWD Academy, Taguig City.

Hosted by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) and led by Executive Director Glenda D. Relova, the activity aimed to strengthen the implementation of the Unified Persons with Disability Identification System (UPWDIS), ensuring a more efficient, accurate, and inclusive registration and management of Persons with Disabilities across local government units.

As part of the program, the participating LGUs from Northern Samar also received Information Technology (IT) equipment generously sponsored by the NCDA. These resources will significantly enhance the implementation of the UPWDIS to improve the delivery of programs and services for every Persons with Disability sector in their respective municipalities.

The Provincial PDAO of Northern Samar extends its sincere gratitude to the NCDA for its unwavering support and commitment to advancing disability-inclusive governance and empowering local government units through capacity-building and technology assistance.

Catarman, Northern Samar—The Provision of Assistive Devices Program, implemented in partnership with 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜, was successfully carried out, providing hearing aids to 𝟗 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫. Each recipient underwent comprehensive consultations and assessments to ensure that the devices were properly fitted and responsive to their specific needs.

This meaningful collaboration highlights a shared commitment to advancing inclusive and accessible healthcare services for persons with disabilities. Beyond improving hearing, this initiative opens opportunities for better communication, stronger social connections, and more active participation in both family life and the wider community.
