🚨πŸ”₯ FIRE FACTS | HOW TO DETECT A GAS LEAK πŸ”₯🚨

A gas leak is a serious hazard that can quickly lead to fire, explosion, or health emergencies if left unnoticed. Knowing the early warning signs can help protect lives, homes, and communities. The Catbalogan City Fire Station reminds everyone to stay alert and practice proper fire safety measures at all times.

πŸ‘ƒ SMELL
Natural gas commonly produces a strong sulfur-like odor, often compared to rotten eggs. If you notice this unusual smell inside your home or workplace, treat it as a possible warning sign of a gas leak.

πŸ‘‚ SOUND
Listen carefully for hissing, whistling, or roaring sounds near LPG tanks, gas regulators, valves, or pipelines. These sounds may indicate escaping gas from damaged or loose connections.

πŸ‘€ SIGHT
Check for bubbles forming when soapy water is applied around the hose, regulator, or cylinder. Bubbling is one of the most reliable indicators of a gas leak.

βœ‹ FEEL
A leaking gas line may create a cold breeze or blowing sensation near the leak point due to the rapid release of gas pressure.

πŸ“‹ CHECK & ACT IMMEDIATELY
If you suspect a gas leak:
β€’ Turn off the gas supply if it is safe to do so.
β€’ Avoid using electrical switches, appliances, or open flames.
β€’ Evacuate the area immediately.
β€’ Contact the nearest fire station or emergency authorities for assistance.
