Samar National School announces the suspension of classes on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, following a reported threat that is currently being verified by the concerned authorities.

This measure is being taken as a precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and the entire school community.

Samar National School announces that all face-to-face classes will shift to synchronous learning modality on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, following a reported threat that is currently being verified and assessed by the concerned authorities.

This temporary measure is being implemented as a precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and the entire school community. Teaching personnel shall conduct their scheduled classes through appropriate online platforms and other available means of synchronous learning.

Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, Staff, and Visitors:

Praised be Jesus and Mary!

The safety and security of everyone in our school community remain a top priority of St. Mary's College of Catbalogan, Inc.

As part of our continuing efforts to maintain a safe and secure learning environment, the institution is strengthening its security protocols. I respectfully ask everyone to understand and observe the following measures:

𝟭. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲
All individuals entering the institution are required to undergo security screening using the metal detector at the school gate. Everyone is expected to cooperate with the security personnel during the inspection.

𝟮. 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
After the morning Rosary, advisers will facilitate the inspection of students' bags as part of our preventive safety and security measures.

𝟯. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀
Parents and guardians are not permitted to proceed directly to the classrooms. Parents waiting for their children are kindly requested to remain at the designated gate/waiting area while classes are ongoing.

𝟰. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Visitors who need to transact business with the Cashier, Registrar, or other school offices are required to:

• Register in the visitor's logbook;
• Present a valid visitor's ID/identification; and
• Follow the instructions of the school security personnel.

𝟱. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱
All members of the school community and visitors are expected to comply with these security measures. Individuals who refuse to undergo the required security screening or otherwise fail to comply with the established protocols may be denied entry or access to the institution.

These measures are preventive and are intended to strengthen the security of our institution and provide our parents and the entire school community with greater peace of mind. We trust our students and recognize their discipline and good conduct; however, maintaining a safe school environment requires vigilance, cooperation, and adherence to established safety procedures.

I sincerely ask for everyone's kind understanding, cooperation, and support as we implement these protocols.

The City Internal Audit Services Office evaluated the Monthly Local School Board (LSB) Meeting organized by the Catbalogan City Mayor's Office on July 14, 2026, at the City Mayor's Conference Room.

The activity garnered an overall rating of 4.91 (Very Satisfactory) from the attendees, with comments that the meeting was delivered clearly and the board meeting was run smoothly.

The 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 (𝗟𝗦𝗕) 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 successfully convened today, April 16, 2026, at the City Mayor’s Office Conference Room, bringing together key stakeholders committed to strengthening the city’s educational landscape.

The board thoroughly reviewed and approved the previous LSB minutes, including actions taken, and engaged in a meaningful discussion on budget items not eligible for charging to the Special Education Fund (SEF), particularly the board and lodging concerns for Catbalogan City Agro-Industrial School (CCAIS).

The meeting also opened initial discussions on the city’s potential co-hosting of EVRAA 2027, signaling early preparations and collaborative efforts toward a successful regional sporting event.

With continued unity and forward-thinking leadership, Catbalogan City remains steadfast in its mission to deliver responsive and sustainable education programs for all.
