The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Catbalogan Chapter ignited a spark of awareness and empowerment in Barangay Cagutian, championing vital discussions on Anti-Trafficking in Persons (ATIP), the Bawal-Bastos Law (R.A 11313 also known as Safe Spaces Act of 2018, and the Unlad Kabataan Program (UKP). This initiative also amplified the spirit of Linggo ng Kabataan through the vibrant celebration of Laro ng Lahi!

A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated. Your energy and enthusiasm made this day a success, creating lasting memories, and a stronger community. You are making a real difference!

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Catbalogan headed by our City Mayor Hon. Dexter M. Uy and Barangay Captain of Cagutian, whose invaluable support was instrumental in making this one-day event a resounding success. Day 1: A Day of Learning and Growth!

Today marks Day 1 of the Training of Trainers on Basic Facilitation Skills and Public Speaking, a two-day capacity-building event organized by the PYAP Catbalogan City Federation to equip selected members with the essential skills needed as they engage in community work.

The sessions for today focused on:
📌 Understanding the Role of a Youth Trainer by Sir Jovic Rapanan of CPYDO
📌 Fundamentals of Public Speaking by Ma'am Daphny Camero from the City Mayor’s Office

This meaningful training aims to boost the confidence and competence of our youth leaders in communication and facilitation.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the City Government of Catbalogan, through the Catbalogan City Population and Youth Development Office (CPYDO) headed by Atty. Roldan John P. Larios, and the Catbalogan City Social Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO) led by Ma’am Annie G. Mustacisa, for their steadfast support.

Special thanks as well to our amazing resource speakers for sharing their time, insights, and expertise. 💙

The PYAP Catbalogan Chapter, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) Catbalogan, spearheaded a meaningful activity in observance of the 2025 World Day Against Trafficking held on July 30, 2025 at Pangdan National High School.

The event gathered 100 senior high school students from Grades 11 and 12, with the guidance of SHS Head Coordinator Ms. Elena Beduya and other dedicated school teachers.

The session focused on prevention and awareness, tackling key topics such as:
✅ R.A. 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act)
✅ R.A 11313 or Safe Spaces Act/Bawal bastos Law
✅ UKP (Unlad Kabataan Program)

Through continuous education and active youth participation, we stand united in the fight against human trafficking. 💙
