🌱 DEVELOP AND CULTURE | TBI-LAMBAT IN-CLASS WORKSHOP

The SSU TBI-LAMBAT, under the SSU Innovation Office, conducted an in-class workshop on September 17, 2026 as part of its Develop and Culture activities. The session brought together student participants for an introductory discussion on Innovation 101 and commercialization pathways.

The workshop introduced the participants to the fundamentals of innovation, including how ideas and research outputs can progress toward practical application, market validation, and eventual commercialization. Through the session, students were encouraged to look beyond developing technologies and begin thinking about the problems they solve, the value they create, and the potential pathways for bringing their solutions to users and communities.

This activity forms part of TBI-LAMBAT’s continuing effort to build an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset among students and to help promising academic projects take their first steps toward becoming viable technologies and future startup ventures.

The application deadline for the DICT Philippine Startup Challenge XI (PSC XI) has been EXTENDED until October 11, 2026 (Sunday). All application requirements and submission guidelines remain unchanged.

If your team has been preparing an innovative idea or startup solution, you now have additional time to complete and submit your application.

🌱 DEVELOP & CULTURE | From Research to Commercialization

As part of the SSU TBI-LAMBAT Develop and Culture Program, Electronics Engineering students participated in an in-class learning session on September 10, 2026, focusing on the commercialization pathways of student research outputs.

The session introduced students to how research can move beyond academic requirements and toward real-world application through intellectual property protection, technology transfer, licensing, collaboration, and startup creation.

Through these classroom engagements, TBI-LAMBAT continues to develop and nurture an innovation and entrepreneurial culture among students, encouraging them to see their research outputs not only as academic accomplishments but as potential technologies and solutions that can create impact.

This activity forms part of TBI-LAMBAT’s continuing effort to bring innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship closer to the classroom.

🚀 OPPORTUNITY ALERT | SPACE BUSINESS INNOVATION CAMP 2026 🛰️

Calling all SSU students, faculty members, researchers, inventors, innovators, startup teams, and aspiring technopreneurs!

The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is inviting interested participants to join the Space Business Innovation Camp (SBIC) 2026 — a FREE business and technical mentoring program designed to help transform innovative ideas into space-enabled ventures through the use of satellite data, data analytics, and AI.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about:

🌱 DEVELOP & CULTURE | Building the Startup Mindset in the Classroom

On September 3, 2026, SSU TBI-LAMBAT engaged 3rd-year Food Technology students enrolled in Food Innovation through an in-class learning session under the Develop & Culture Program.

The session introduced students to three key foundations of early-stage venture development:

🚀 Startup 101: From Innovation to Enterprise
Students explored what makes a startup different from an ordinary newly established business and how innovation involves meaningful improvements in a product, process, or business model.

🤝 Teams and Teamwork
The discussion emphasized that effective teams are built around complementary skills, shared goals, commitment, and mutual accountability—important foundations when developing innovation-driven projects and ventures.

💡 Concept Generation and Evaluation
Students were encouraged to approach problems creatively, challenge conventional thinking, and explore different ways of developing solutions. The session also introduced techniques such as SCAMPER to help generate and improve potential concepts.

Through the Develop & Culture Program, TBI-LAMBAT brings startup and innovation concepts closer to academic courses, helping students strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset and prepare promising ideas for possible progression toward mentoring, pre-incubation, and startup development.

🚀 TBI-LAMBAT Officially Begins Startup Incubation Intake

TBI-LAMBAT has officially started accepting technology-based startups and spin-offs for its incubation program.

The intake process commenced on July 8, 2026, through a closed-door pitching evaluation, where startup applicants presented their technologies, business concepts, and development plans before the evaluation committee.

This marks another important step in TBI-LAMBAT’s commitment to supporting promising innovations, strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities, and transforming technology-based ideas into sustainable and market-ready ventures.
