Limited connectivity and unequal access to digital services continue to challenge many communities across Eastern Visayas. In line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.โ€™s directive to accelerate digital transformation and bring government services closer to the people, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region VIII officially launched the National ICT Month 2026 Celebration at the Leyte Normal University Research, Innovation, and Extension Center in Palo, Leyte.

Bringing together government agencies, local leaders, academe, and development partners, the kickoff ceremony highlighted a shared commitment to building a more connected nation through the Digital Transformation Center inauguration, DICT-LNU partnership signing, Ceremonial Light-Up of Free Wi-Fi Sites in Leyte and Biliran, and messages of support and commitment from key stakeholders.

Anchored on the theme โ€œIsang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo,โ€ the event showcased how collaboration transforms communitiesโ€”from limited access to greater opportunities for learning, innovation, and public serviceโ€”ensuring that the benefits of digitalization reach every Filipino.

Pormal na sinimulan ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) ang pagdiriwang ng National ICT Month 2026 sa pamamagitan ng isang motorcade na nagsilbing simbolo ng pagkakaisa, pakikiisa, at sama-samang adhikain tungo sa mas konektado at digital na Pilipinas.

Kaakibat ng temang โ€œIsang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo,โ€ binibigyang-pugay ng pagdiriwang na ito ang sampung taon ng pagsusulong ng digital na pagbabago at pagpapalawak ng mga serbisyong pampubliko na makabago, inklusibo, at nakatuon sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino.

Sa pagpapatuloy ng digital na transpormasyon ng bansa, muling pinagtitibay ng DICT ang kanyang pangako na maghatid ng teknolohiyang may malasakit, makabuluhang konektibidad, at serbisyong tunay na naglilingkod sa mamamayan.

This course covers entity class, database management, web app security, error handling, and CodeIgniter 4 deployment. Participants will also learn about modelโ€“viewโ€“controller (MVC), form handling, user authentication, security best practices, external API integration, unit testing, and deployment.

The course is limited to thirty (30) participants from Samar province only. This includes workers from government (such as SUCs, NGAs, and LGUs), the private sector, freelancers, and students on a first-come, first-served basis:
1. Students who are aspiring developers seeking practical experience with CodeIgniter.
2. Web developers eager to learn how to build dynamic applications using the framework.
3. PHP developers looking to enhance their skills and knowledge with CodeIgniter.
4. Freelancers who are IT professionals wanting to expand their capabilities for various client applications.

1. Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
