August 5, 2026 — The CPYDO team held its monthly meeting to discuss updates, upcoming activities, and plans moving forward.

The meeting served as an opportunity to strengthen coordination, share ideas, and ensure that the team continues to work together toward responsive and meaningful service to the community.

Larios, Catbalogan City Population and Youth Development Officer, is participating in the 3rd Quarter Meeting of the League of Youth Development Officers (LYDO) of the Province of Samar at the Provincial Youth Empowerment and Sports Development Office (PYESDO).

The quarterly meeting brings together Municipal and City Youth Development Officers across the Province of Samar to discuss updates on youth development programs, upcoming activities, accomplishment reports, and other key initiatives aimed at strengthening youth development and collaboration among local governmen

The City Government of Catbalogan, headed by City Mayor Dexter Uy, through the Catbalogan City Population and Youth Development Office, successfully awarded cash incentives today to qualified Samar State University medalist-athletes and coaches who brought pride and honor to the City during the Regional SCUAA Games 2026. The awarding ceremony was held at the City Mayor's Office Conference Room, Catbalogan City, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to sports excellence.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 (𝟭𝟳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀)
• 8 Gold – ₱3,500 each
• 4 Silver – ₱2,500 each
• 5 Bronze – ₱1,500 each

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 (𝟴 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀)
• 1 Gold – ₱10,000 per team medalist
• 3 Silver – ₱7,000 per team medalist
• 4 Bronze – ₱5,000 per team medalist

Coaches likewise received corresponding cash incentives in recognition of their invaluable role in developing the City's athletes.

The City Government of Catbalogan remains steadfast in recognizing athletic excellence and empowering more young Catbaloganons to pursue sports through the Sports Development Program.

The City Population and Youth Development Office participated in the Kalikasan Awareness Program through a Synchronized Tree Planting and Clean-Up Drive held on July 14, 2026, at the Barangay Pupua Mangrove Site. The activity was conducted in line with the City Government of Catbalogan's observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 and in support of the Department of Justice – Parole and Probation Administration (DOJ-PPA) Regional Office VIII as it celebrates its 50th Founding Anniversary.

Through this initiative, participants joined fellow city employees, partner agencies, and community members in promoting environmental stewardship while supporting efforts toward disaster resilience, rehabilitation, and meaningful community engagement.
