“Meet and Greet: 8SBn, REACT Boost Communication Ties”

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – On 27 April 2026, in a courtesy call with Lt. Col. Romeo M. Pazziuagan SC (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer. the officers and Enlisted Personnel of 8th Signal Battalion (8SBn), Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, warmly welcomed key officers and representatives of REACT Philippines, Inc.

Ms. Juza U. Dapdap the newly elected National President was joined by Mr. Jojen M. Bayabay, the outgoing National President, and Mr. Brando Nicole V. Garduce, Group Chief of REACT Hamorawon, along with their party. The engagement served as an avenue to formally introduce the new leadership of REACT Philippines and to reaffirm the organization’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the 8th Signal Battalion with regards to radio communication, particularly in areas of Humanitarian and Disaster Response (HADR), Public Service, and Community Engagements.

During the discussion, both parties highlighted the importance of collaboration between the military and civilian volunteer groups in enhancing disaster response capabilities and ensuring efficient communication support during emergencies. The 8SBn, being at the forefront of signal operations, expressed its openness to future joint initiatives, training opportunities, and information-sharing activities with REACT Philippines. The activity provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange knowledge and best practices, recognizing REACT Philippines as a vital civilian counterpart in radio communications.

Lt. Col. Pazziuagan conveyed his appreciation for REACT Philippines’ continued support and emphasized the value of synergy in achieving a more responsive and resilient communication network, especially in times of crisis. In turn, Ms. Dapdap expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed REACT’s dedication to working closely with the Philippine Army in advancing mutual objectives.

The activity concluded on a positive note, reinforcing a shared commitment to service, cooperation, and nation-building, further solidifying the strong partnership between the 8th Signal Battalion and REACT Philippines, Inc.

8SBn Recognizes 12 Promoted Personnel in Simultaneous Pinning of Ranks

Theme: “From Achievement to Responsibility: Shaping Signal Enlisted Leaders”

CAMP VICENTE LUKBAN, Catbalogan City, Samar – April 20, 2026 – The 8th Signal Battalion (8SBn), Signal Regiment, Philippine Army, proudly participated in the Simultaneous Donning of Ranks for newly promoted enlisted personnel, spearheaded by the Signal Regiment, Philippine Army via video teleconferencing (VTC). This was later followed by the Territorial Signal Battalions conducting their respective face-to-face donning ceremonies within their units upon the emcee’s signal to proceed.

The 8SBn formally commenced its face-to-face ceremonial Pinning of ranks for the 12 promoted Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the unit.

During the ceremony, each promoted personnel delivered messages of gratitude, beginning with the most senior Staff Sergeant down to the most junior promoted Corporal. This was followed by the message and guidance of Lt. Col. Romeo M. Pazziuagan, Commanding Officer of 8SBn.

“Promotion is both an honor and a challenge,” Lt. Col. Pazziuagan emphasized. “It reflects not only what you have accomplished, but what is expected of you moving forward — to lead by example, uphold standards, and inspire your subordinates.”

The Pinning of Ranks ceremony marked a significant milestone in the careers of the 12 enlisted personnel, who earned their promotion through consistent discipline, exemplary performance, and steadfast adherence to military values. The formal donning of new rank insignia, witnessed by officers, fellow troops, and civilian human resource personnel, symbolized their readiness to assume greater responsibilities within the unit, the Signal Regiment, and the Philippine Army.

The ceremony further highlighted the Battalion’s holistic approach to soldier development, emphasizing both professional advancement and personal growth. It also reaffirmed the unit’s vital role as a key component of the 8th Infantry Division, delivering reliable and agile communications support in both peacetime and operational deployments.
