PCOL ANDRE PEREZ DIZON
Provincial Director Different names (Samal, Ibabao, Tandaya) were given to Samar Island prior to the coming of the Spaniards in 1596.

The name Samar was derived from the local dialect “Samad”, meaning wound or cut, which aptly describes the rough physical features of the island that is rugged and deeply dissected by streams. During the early days of Spanish occupation, Samar was under the jurisdiction of Cebu. In 1735, Samar and Leyte were united into one province (carigara as the capital town) and separated from Leyte in 1768.

Camp Lukban is located at Brgy. Maulong, Catbalogan Samar a distance of three (3) kilometers from poblacion of Catbalogan City. The camp was named after GENERAL VICENTE LUKBAN, the first military governor of Samar during the revolutionary government under the late GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO. This name was officially known since the camp existed during the pre-war days wherein two (2) cadre barracks were built for the training of twenty (20) year old male citizens.

Arrest of Escapee:(Aljon Tamuyang Cardenas, rebel capatured). At about 12:15 PM of October 20, 2019 at Brgy Dawo (Est Dist from city proper: 45 KM) , Calbayog City, element of this Calbayog CPS under the direct supervision PLTCOL JOEL C GARCIA, Acting Chief of Police arrested one Aljon Tamuyang Cardenas(rebel captured during victoria ps raid), an escapee from Allen Sub Provincial Jail, Allen, Northern, Samar last Oct 17, 2019. Said suspect was brought to this Calbayog CPS for proper disposition.

Congratulations to PLTCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Acting Provincial Director for relentless support given to every personnel and great accomplishment and to Calbayog CPS, for a job well done. Your effort is very much appreciated.

Jail Break at about 7:00 PM of October 17, 2019,
Escapee in Allen Sub-Provincial Jail, Brg. Sabang 1, Allen, N. Samar one Aljon Cardenas y Tamoyang, of legal age, single and a resident of Brgy. Dawo. Oquendo Dist. Calbayog City (charge for robbery with homicide viol. of Sec. 261, para (q) of BP 881 of the COMELEC Election Code and Violation of R.A 10591 amending RA 8294 otherwise known as illegal Possession of Fi****ms and ammunition).At about 08:00 PM of October 17, 2019, a certain Manuel Valenzuela and Joemar Miano, personnel of Allen Sub-Provincial Jail reported to Allen MPS regarding a jail break. Accordingly, said escapee was able to escape from prison by climbing the concrete perimeter wall with an estimated height of about six (6) meters. Personnel of Allen MPS led by PMAJ FLORANDO S RELENTE with the personnel of Allen Sub-Provincial Jail immediately conducted a dragnet operation for the possible recovery of the escapee. Any information or whereabouts of this escapee. Please contact any nearest Police Station.

On October 2, 2019, personnel of Samar Police Provincial Office led by PCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Acting Provincial Director celebrated the Blue Mass held at Samar PPO officiated by REV FR (MAJ) TEDDY C DAVID, Regional Pastoral Officer as part of Moral and Spiritual Enhancement endeavor of this PPO.

It was attended by PLTCOL REYNALDO B TORLAO, Deputy Provincial Director for Administrations, PLTCOL RENNY T EGUIA, Deputy Provincial Director for Operations and different Branch Chiefs of this Office held outside Samar PPO Conference Room on September 30,2019 at around 1:30 in the afternoon.

At around 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon of September 27, 2019, PLTCOL REYNALDO B TORLAO, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration under the supervision of PCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Acting Provincial Director attended the Change of Chief of Office ADC and Testimonial Review and Retirement Ceremony of BGEN ELIEZER L LOSAÑES, AFP, Assistant Division Commander, at 8ID Grandstand.

At about 8:00 o'clock in the morning of September 26,2019, PCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Acting Provincial Director, Samar PPO presided the conference regarding the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Calbayog. It was attended by all Branch Chiefs of Samar PPO, Legal Officer, Chief, PCLO, COP Calbayog CPS and Team Leader of RIU Samar at Samar PPO Conference Room.

2nd Provincial Advisory Council Summit held at Villa Josefa, Brgy 9, Catbalogan City. It was presided by PLTCOL FELIPE R TAN, (Retired PNP Member), Provincial Advisory Chairman. It was attended by PLTCOL ANDRE P DIZON, Acting Provincial, Samar PPO, PLTCOL REYNALDO B TORLAO, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration/Operations at the same Chief, PPSMU, all Chief of Police from City/Municipal Police Stations, Provincial Advisory Council and the City/Municipal/PMFC Advisory Council of 2nd District of Samar on September 21,2019.
