On August 5, 2026, the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), in partnership with the City Public Employment Service Office (CPESO) successfully conducted an Orientation on Empowering PWDs through Labor Laws and Work Standards, and Inclusive Employment at Bodega Skol Bar, Diversion Road, Catbalogan City. The activity gathered Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from various barangays of Catbalogan City to strengthen their knowledge of labor laws, workers' rights, workplace standards, and inclusive employment opportunities while promoting equal access to decent work.

The activity featured informative discussions from DOLE–Samar Field Office resource speakers Mr. Raul Angelo P. Tabao and Ms. Karen Joan Libres, who shared valuable insights on General Labor Standards, workers' rights, occupational safety and health, and the provisions of Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law). Participants also actively engaged during the open forum, where they gained practical guidance on labor-related concerns and government programs that support their employment journey. In addition, CPESO facilitated the accomplishment of TUPAD Profiling Forms, reaffirming its commitment to prioritizing the PWD sector in employment and livelihood initiatives.

The City Government of Catbalogan remains steadfast in promoting inclusive, accessible, and equitable opportunities for every Catbaloganon. Through the continued collaboration of PDAO, CPESO, and DOLE–Samar Field Office, we strengthen our commitment to empowering Persons with Disabilities by providing the knowledge, support, and opportunities they need to participate meaningfully in the workforce and contribute to the city's inclusive growth.
