The Local Government Unit of Cateel is now accepting applications for the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES). This program aims to provide temporary employment to deserving students and out-of-school youth while encouraging them to pursue their education.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Must be 17 to 30 years old
2. Must be an incoming Grade 12 or college student (graduating college students are not eligible)
3. Must be a resident of Cateel, Davao Oriental
4. Must have no failing grades
5. Out-of-school youth (OSY) are eligible, provided they have the intention to continue their studies

𝙄𝙄. 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨
1. Applicants must be computer literate
2. Basic knowledge in digital tools, document processing, and creative applications is an advantage

All applications shall be submitted online only. Walk-in applications will not be entertained.

The Career Development Support Program (CDSP) of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Cateel successfully continued on March 3, 2026, reaching learners from two secondary schools in a whole-day rollout.

In the morning session held at Cateel National Agricultural High School (CNAHS), students actively participated in discussions on Labor Market Information, gaining insights on in-demand jobs and emerging career opportunities. The team then proceeded to San Antonio National High School (SANHS) in the afternoon to deliver the same set of empowering topics.

Learners from both schools were oriented on PESO and DOLE services, the Child Labor Protection and Elimination Program, and the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act. The sessions aimed to equip students with knowledge on their rights, available government support, and the necessary steps to prepare for future employment.

Through the continuous implementation of CDSP, PESO-Cateel remains committed to guiding and empowering young learners toward informed career choices and decent employment opportunities.

PESO-Cateel successfully conducted the Career Development Support Program (CDSP) for Grade 10 learners of Cateel Vocational High School, strengthening awareness and readiness among the youth as they prepare for their future careers on February 2, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The activity featured important discussions on the prevention of Child Labor, emphasizing the rights of young individuals to education and protection from hazardous and exploitative work. Learners were also oriented on the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act, which grants free access to essential government-issued pre-employment documents for first-time job applicants.

The program was graced by the presence of the PESO Manager of the Province of Davao Oriental, Ms. Jay O. Dayanghirang, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to pursue their dreams, value education, and become responsible future members of the workforce.

Through initiatives like CDSP, PESO-Cateel continues its commitment to empowering the youth towards informed, safe, and meaningful employment opportunities.
