💜🎗️ CANCER MONTH 2026 | EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES! 🎗️💜

This October, Catmon Rural Health Unit joins the celebration of Cancer Month by encouraging everyone to take charge of their health through early screening and early detection.

✨ AVAILABLE CANCER SCREENING: ✨

👩 CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING

For women 25–65 years old who are sexually active, with no history of hysterectomy involving removal of the cervix, and no active gynecologic malignancy under treatment.
Screening options: Pap Smear & VIA

👩‍⚕️ THYROID CANCER SCREENING

If you have any of the following:
• Bukol/nodule sa thyroid or liog
• Enlarged neck swelling
• Persistent hoarseness
• Difficulty swallowing
• Persistent throat discomfort
• Compressive neck symptoms

👨 PROSTATE CANCER SCREENING

Especially for men below 50 years old with risk factors or symptoms such as:
• Family history of prostate cancer
• Urinary symptoms or difficulty urinating
• Urgency/frequency in urination
• Blood in urine or semen
• Burning or swelling during urination
• Weak, decreased, or interrupted urine flow

Para sa mga nagpa-Pap Smear niadtong August 5, 2026, available na ang inyong Pap Smear results sa Catmon Rural Health Unit (RHU).

Palihug adto sa Catmon RHU aron ma-claim ug ma-discuss ang inyong resulta with our healthcare staff.

Importante: Ang Pap Smear usa ka screening test para makatabang sa early detection sa cervical changes nga mahimong mahimong cervical cancer kung dili ma-monitor ug matambalan.

Ayaw kahadlok sa resulta. Early detection = early action = mas dakong chance nga malikayan ang seryosong sakit.

5TH DAY OF MR SIA | PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM MEASLES & RUBELLA! ❤️💉

Day 5 na ta sa atong MR Supplemental Immunization Activity (SIA)! 🎉

Mga Mama, Papa, ug Guardians, we encourage everyone to open your minds and learn from trusted health professionals before making a decision about vaccination. Ayaw dayon tuo sa tanan makita nato sa social media. Daghan og information online, pero dili tanan accurate or gikan sa reliable health sources.

Unsa man ang Supplemental Immunization?

Ang MR Supplemental Immunization Activity (SIA) is an additional vaccination activity conducted to give children extra protection against Measles and Rubella.

Yes, ang MR vaccine is already part of the routine immunization sa mga bata, commonly given at 9 months and 1 year old.

So nganong hatagan pa man og MR during SIA?

Because during an SIA, our goal is to reach more children and provide an additional layer of protection, especially in case there is a measles or rubella outbreak in the community. We want our children to be protected BEFORE an outbreak happens—not when it is already happening.

Mga ginikanan, please consider giving your child this extra protection.

Dili nato gusto nga maghulat pa ta nga naay outbreak before ta mangita og protection. Prevention is always better than cure.

Vaccination is one of the ways we can protect not only our own child, but also our community.

If you have questions or concerns about the MR vaccine, please ask our RHU nurses, midwives, or health workers. We are here to listen, explain, and help you make an informed decision.

If you are:
✅ 16 years old and above (16–17 years old with parental consent)
✅ In good health
✅ Weigh at least 50 kg
✅ Willing to help save lives

Together, let’s ensure a safe and adequate blood supply for patients in need. Your simple act of kindness can give hope, healing, and a second chance at life.
