On September 3, 2026, at around 9:00 AM, personnel of this station, under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, Officer-in-Charge, conducted a school visitation and provided security assistance and police presence during the National Simultaneous School Safety Drills held at Duyan National High School, Brgy. Duyan, Catmon, Cebu.

In addition, PNP personnel conducted an information drive for high school students focusing on school safety and crime prevention awareness in observance of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week. Awareness flyers were likewise distributed containing essential safety reminders and preventive measures to encourage students’ active participation in maintaining a safe and secure school community.

On September 3, 2026, at around 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, personnel of this station led by PLT PETER G MUANA, under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, OIC, conducted a checkpoint operation along the national highway of Brgy. Panalipan, Catmon, Cebu, as part of the station’s continuing efforts to strengthen security measures and maintain peace and order within the area of responsibility.

The activity aimed to deter criminality, enhance police visibility, monitor the movement of persons and vehicles, and ensure compliance with existing traffic laws and regulations. Likewise, motorists were reminded to observe road safety measures and carry the necessary documents while traveling to promote public safety and security.

On September 3, 2026, at around 7:00 AM onwards, personnel of this station, under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, OIC, conducted police presence at Catmon Integrated School as part of the implementation of school safety and security measures.

The activity aimed to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, school personnel, and parents, and to maintain peace and order in the school vicinity. During the activity, personnel also distributed crime prevention and safety awareness flyers and disseminated information on the Unified 911 Emergency Hotline, encouraging students, teachers, parents, and school personnel to immediately report emergencies, suspicious activities, and incidents requiring police assistance.

On September 2, 2026, personnel of this station, under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, OIC, conducted intensified anti-criminality law enforcement operations through enhanced police visibility, intensified foot patrols, and the strict enforcement of local ordinances.

The activity also included the implementation of Oplan Bulabog, Oplan Bakal Sita, and the strict enforcement of the curfew for minors, aimed at preventing and deterring criminal activities, safeguarding minors from potential risks during prohibited hours, and maintaining peace, order, and public safety within the municipality.

CATMON POLICE ARREST INDIVIDUAL FOR GRAVE THREATS

CATMON, CEBU — An individual was arrested by personnel of the Catmon Municipal Police Station following a reported incident involving threats in Barangay Catmondaan, Catmon, Cebu, on August 30, 2026.

At around 10:45 PM, the suspect, who was allegedly under the influence of liquor, became unruly and caused a disturbance. When warned by the victim to stop, the suspect allegedly picked up a bladed weapon locally known as a “sundang” and brandished it while uttering, “Patyon tika,” causing the victim to fear for his safety.

Despite attempts to pacify the suspect, he allegedly continued to brandish the weapon, prompting the victim to seek police assistance. Responding personnel of Catmon MPS immediately proceeded to the area and apprehended the suspect, preventing further escalation of the incident.

The suspect was taken into police custody for proper documentation and disposition, while appropriate charges for Grave Threats are being pursued in accordance with existing laws and procedures.

The incident highlights the commitment of Catmon MPS, under the leadership of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, OIC, to ensure prompt police response and maintain peace, order, and public safety.

Catmon MPS urges the public to immediately report threats, disturbances, and other unlawful activities to the nearest police station or through Emergency Hotline 911. Prompt reporting and cooperation from the community remain vital in preventing incidents from escalating and ensuring the safety of everyone.

WANTED PERSON ARRESTED BY CATMON POLICE FOR VIOLATION OF R.A. 11223

A wanted person facing charges for Violation of Section 38(d)(1) of Republic Act No. 11223, otherwise known as the Universal Health Care Act, was successfully arrested by the Tracker Team of Catmon Municipal Police Station during the implementation of a warrant of arrest on September 1, 2026, at around 9:00 AM in Barangay Macaas, Catmon, Cebu.

The operation was conducted by the Tracker Team of Catmon MPS under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, Officer-in-Charge. Acting on the standing warrant issued by the court, the station’s Tracker Team successfully located and apprehended the accused without incident through a lawful and intelligence-driven operation.

Upon arrest, the suspect was informed of the nature of the warrant and was apprised of his constitutional rights in accordance with the law. The operation was carried out following established legal procedures, with proper documentation and strict observance of due process.

The arrested individual was subsequently brought to Catmon Municipal Police Station for documentation and processing prior to turnover to the appropriate court.

This successful operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Catmon MPS to the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against wanted persons and to the faithful enforcement of court-issued warrants. Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Meeting

On September 2, 2026, personnel of Catmon MPS under the direct supervision of PCPT FRANCIS RUSSUE G SALVID, OIC, attended the monthly BADAC Meeting together with the BADAC members of Brgy. Binongkalan, Catmon, Cebu.

The activity focused on discussing the current status and recent updates on illegal drug activities within the barangay. It also covered the prevailing peace and order situation, and other significant issues and concerns affecting the community. The meeting served as a venue to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and reinforce collaborative efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs and in maintaining public safety.
