The Philippine Commission on Women validators conducted a three-day assessment of Cauayan City’s key Gender and Development (GAD) programs from May 4 to 6 as part of the city’s bid for recognition as a GAD Local Learning Hub (LLH).

Nagsagawa ang Local Government Unit of Cauayan City sa pamamagitan ng Cauayan Cooperative Development Office, katuwang ang Department of Trade and Industry Isabela Provincial Office, ng Packaging and Labelling and Product Sensory Evaluation Activity noong Mayo 7, 2026 sa ICONIC Hotel.

Layunin ng aktibidad na mapalakas ang kakayahan at pagiging kompetitibo ng mga micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sa Cauayan City sa pamamagitan ng mas maayos na packaging, tamang product labeling, at pagpapabuti ng kalidad ng kanilang mga produkto. Bahagi rin ito ng patuloy na pagsuporta ng pamahalaan sa pagpapalago ng lokal na negosyo at kabuhayan.

Ayon sa mga organizer, mahalaga ang product development initiatives upang mas mapataas ang marketability ng mga lokal na produkto at matulungan ang mga negosyante na makasabay sa kompetisyon sa mas malawak na merkado. Dumalo sa aktibidad ang iba’t ibang kooperatiba at MSME representatives mula sa lungsod at karatig-lugar.

𝗡𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗖𝗙𝗟𝗚).

Isa ang Cauayan City sa limang lungsod sa Region 2 na nabigyan ng award na ito mula sa Department of Interior ang Local Government (DILG).

Ang Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit ay mandatory, results-based assessment na inilunsad ng DILG mula pa noong 2014, para ma-evaluate ang implementation ng mga child welfare programs ng mga lungsod at munisipyo sa Pilipinas. Kailangan ng passing rate na 80% para makakuha ng isang lungsod Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance.

Inaassess nito ang LGUs sa 5 key areas.

• Survival: Health and nutrition services.
• Development: Access to education.
• Protection: Legal and social protection programs.
• Participation: Involving children in decision-making.
• Governance: Institutionalizing child-focused policies.
