On August 17, 2026, seventy-six (76) beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) joined the orientation held at the City Auditorium, Samonte Park, Cavite City.

The session, facilitated via Zoom by Ms. Zsahara Martinez, Labor and Employment Officer III of the DOLE Cavite Provincial Office, equipped participants with vital knowledge on workplace policies, expected conduct, job responsibilities, and employment guidelines.

The orientation emphasized the values of professionalism, punctuality, teamwork, and customer service — preparing the beneficiaries to thrive in their temporary work assignments and future careers.

Through this program, students and youth gain hands-on experience, strengthen their employability, and develop a positive work ethic.

The SPES initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the City Government of Cavite through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), continues to bridge opportunities for deserving students, out-of-school youth, and dependents of displaced workers.

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) – Cavite City proudly participated in the 5th Regional PESO Congress held last August 3–5, 2026 at the Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga.

This three‑day gathering brought together PESO managers, Job Placement Office (JPO) managers, local government officials, employment stakeholders, and DOLE representatives from Region IV‑A CALABARZON to strengthen employment facilitation and promote quality job creation across the region.

The congress provided a venue for exchanging best practices, fostering stronger partnerships, and discussing innovative strategies to enhance client‑centered and future‑ready employment services. It also reinforced collaboration between PESO and DOLE in delivering inclusive and efficient programs for workers, job seekers, industries, academe, and other beneficiaries.

Key highlights included discussions on employment challenges and labor market concerns, with PESO officials sharing valuable insights during the opening sessions. This regional congress forms part of DOLE’s continuing efforts to expand partnerships, drive innovation, and strengthen the country’s employment service network—supporting a more responsive system and a future‑ready Filipino workforce.

Ang Public Employment Service Office – Cavite City ay buong pusong nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, na may temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon.”

Sa panahon ng mabilis na pagbabago at pag-usbong ng teknolohiya, nananatiling buhay at makabuluhan ang wikang Filipino bilang sandigan ng pagkakaisa at kaunlaran. Ito ang wika ng bayan—ang daluyan ng karunungan, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan ng bawat Pilipino.

Sa pamamagitan ng wikang Filipino, naipapahayag natin ang ating mga ideya, damdamin, at adhikain tungo sa mas inklusibong lipunan. Maging sa larangan ng artipisyal na intelihensiya (AI), ang ating wika ay patuloy na nagiging tulay sa mas malalim na pag-unawa at mas malawak na pag-abot ng impormasyon.

Maligaya at makabuluhang Buwan ng Wika sa lahat ng Caviteños! Ipagmalaki natin ang ating wika—ang puso ng ating pagkatao, kultura at tagapagtaguyod ng pambansang pagkakaisa.

𝗝𝗨𝗟𝗬 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥 𝗢𝗡 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

A Seminar on Livelihood Development was successfully held at the Barangay 28 Covered Court through the initiative of Councilor Doods Nuguid, in coordination with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), and in partnership with the Office of the Provincial Cooperatives Development Officer (OPCDO).

The program was designed for the members of Alyansang Mangingisda ng Kabite Para Sa Pagbabago (ALMA‑KAPA) to gain knowledge and skills in livelihood development. It introduced sustainable income‑generating opportunities, strengthened entrepreneurial competencies, and promoted cooperative development. The initiative also sought to empower participants by equipping them with practical information and resources that can improve their economic well‑being and support their families through viable livelihood projects.

Thirty (30) members actively joined the seminar, guided by Ms. Sheryll Loyola, Livelihood Division Head, who served as the resource speaker. She shared her valuable expertise on livelihood strategies, cooperative building, and entrepreneurial practices, emphasizing the importance of resource management, innovation, and collective effort in sustaining livelihood projects.

Ms. Rowena C. Andrade, RSW, City Social Welfare and Development Officer, also highlighted support programs available through OCSWDO to reinforce livelihood initiatives. Her message underscored the City Government’s commitment to extend holistic support to community organizations, ensuring that livelihood efforts are sustained and inclusive.

Workshops were likewise conducted, allowing participants to engage in hands‑on activities and group discussions. These workshops encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application of the concepts learned during the seminar. Participants shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and developed initial plans for livelihood projects.

This successful activity reflects the strong partnership of local government offices and the cooperative sector in empowering community organizations toward economic self‑reliance.

The 3rd Quarter Cavite PESO Managers Meeting was successfully convened at the JM Conference Room, Barangay Medina, Magallanes, Cavite, under the leadership of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

This gathering brought together PESO Managers and staff from across Cavite to deliberate on key updates, programs, and initiatives related to employment facilitation, labor market services, and livelihood programs. It also served as an important venue to review collective accomplishments from the second quarter of the year.

The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen coordination and collaboration among PESO offices, ensuring more effective service delivery and expanding job opportunities for every Caviteño.

Through unity, the sharing of best practices, and steadfast cooperation among PESO offices, we continue to advance inclusive and efficient services for our communities.

The Family Welfare Office and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), under the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), successfully conducted a seminar entitled “SAFE MIGRATION: Prevention of Illegal Recruitment and Human Trafficking and Protection of OFW Rights and Welfare” at the City Auditorium, Samonte Park, Cavite City.

This initiative promoted safe and informed migration by raising public awareness of the risks of illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons, while reinforcing the protection of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through knowledge of their rights, welfare, and available government programs. Ninety (90) participants attended, including former OFWs, members of OFW organizations, barangay officials, and representatives from various sectors.

The program opened with an audio visual prayer and the national anthem, followed by remarks from Ms. Cristine Joy G. Mingo, RSW, Social Welfare Officer III, who emphasized the City Government’s commitment to safeguard OFWs and their families through education and community support.

Comprehensive discussions on Anti Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) were led by Mr. Christian Joshua R. Caya and Ms. Riza N. Ramirez Flores from the Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON. They highlighted vigilance against illegal recruitment tactics, the importance of verifying employment opportunities, and the legal consequences of engaging with unverified agencies, while presenting programs designed to support Filipino migrant workers.

Participants also shared migration experiences—both successful and challenging—underscoring the importance of awareness and preparedness. A meaningful discussion on home management of children left behind by OFW parents was facilitated by Ms. Arlene A. Ubayan, RSW, Social Welfare Officer IV, who stressed the role of communication, emotional support, and community involvement in safeguarding children’s well being.

The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates and a photo opportunity, reaffirming the City Government and partner agencies’ commitment to empower communities through information and education, equipping OFWs with the knowledge to make safe, informed, and lawful decisions about overseas employment.

The Philippine Air Force Flying School Class 1976‑A, in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development Officer (OCSWDO), brought joy and hope to child laborers and street children through a meaningful Community Outreach Program held at Jollibee, Cavite City.

A total of forty‑three (43) children participated in the activity, spending a day filled with fun, learning, and care. They were warmly welcomed by the organizers and enjoyed interactive games that fostered teamwork, creativity, and confidence.

Beyond the games, each child received cash assistance and gifts — tokens of compassion that reflected the community’s commitment to their welfare. The smiles and gratitude of the children highlighted the success of the program, which not only provided immediate support but also strengthened the spirit of solidarity and care.

This initiative serves as a reminder that through compassion and collective action, we can uplift vulnerable children and create lasting impact.
