SSC, PN Joins the Observance of 2026 IHL Month

The Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy (SSC, PN), led by Rear Admiral, Juario C Marayag PN, Commander, SSC, joined the nationwide observance of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month 2026 during the Command's Flag-raising Ceremony joined by represenratives from Logistics Center, PN, Cavite Naval Hospital and NAVMETOC held on August 3 at the SSC, PN Multi-Purpose Hall.

Anchored on this year's theme: "Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL," the activity reaffirmed the Command's unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of International Humanitarian Law and promoting respect for human dignity, even in times of armed conflict.

During the ceremony, the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources took the Pledge of Commitment to International Humanitarian Law. This was followed by the reading of the message of the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines General Antonio Nafarrete PA, emphasizing the importance of strengthening IHL awareness, protecting civilians, and fostering collaboration among government agencies, humanitarian organizations, and communities.

SSC, PN Honors Newly Promoted Deputy Commander

Fort San Felipe, Cavite City – Arrival Honors was accorded to the newly-promoted Deputy Commander of the Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy (SSC, PN), Commodore Santiago P Pacis Jr PN yesterday afternoon at Headquarters SSC.

Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy (FOIC, PN), Vice Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrosio Q. Ezpeleta, PN, presided over the promotion of Commodore Pacis, PN during the Donning of Ranks Ceremony yesterday morning at Headquarters, Philippine Navy.

In his message, Commo Pacis PN expressed his appreciation to the officers, enlisted personnel and civilian human resources of SSC, PN for their collective efforts and unwavering support in honoring this significant milestone in his naval career.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4, AFP visits SSC, PN

FORT SAN FELIPE, Cavite City – The Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Major General Leo Edward Y Caranto, PA, visited the Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy (SSC, PN) and paid a courtesy call to the SSC, PN Commander, Rear Admiral Juario C Marayag, PN, yesterday.

The visit aimed to assess the logistics management systems of the Command and evaluate its logistics capabilities in support of the AFP's operational readiness.

Received warmly by the Command, Sideboys Honors were rendered to MGen Caranto PA, followed by the traditional signing of the Command’s Guestbook. Likewise, an audio-visual presentation (AVP) was presented to Team J4, highlighting the Command's mission, organizational capabilities, and key accomplishments.

During the executive meeting, the visiting group and the SSC leaders discussed the current logistics management systems, operational concerns, and initiatives aimed at enhancing logistics support across the Command.

The J4 visit underscored the Armed Forces of the Philippines' commitment to enhance logistics readiness, strengthen sustainment capabilities, and ensure that support systems remain responsive to the evolving operational requirements of the AFP.

FORT SAN FELIPE, Cavite City – The Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy (SSC,PN), formally welcomed its new Deputy Commander during the Assumption of Head of Office Ceremony held on July 27, 2026 at SSC, PN Multi-Purpose Hall.

Rear Admiral Juario C Marayag PN presided over the ceremony, marking the official assumption of Captain Santiago P Pacis Jr. PN(GSC) as the new Deputy Commander, Sea Systems Command, PN succeeding Commodore Sergio M Bartolome PN (Ret).

In his remarks, RAdm Marayag PN underscored that leadership transitions are more than military traditions, they reaffirm the continuity of Command, the stability of the institution, and the unwavering commitment of the Sea Systems Command to accomplish its mission. He also commended the outgoing Deputy Commander for his years of dedicated service, citing his professionalism, integrity, and steadfast leadership that strengthened the organization, enhanced its capabilities, and reinforced its commitment to excellence in naval systems engineering and sustainment.

Welcoming Captain Pacis PN(GSC) to his new post, RAdm Marayag PN described the assumption of duty as a "homecoming," noting his previous assignments within the Command as Director of the Research and Technology Development Center, Commander of the Combat Systems Center, and Chief of Staff, Sea Systems Command. He underscored that Captain Pacis' experience in research and development, systems engineering, capability development, and organizational management, coupled with his in-depth understanding of the Command's mission and culture, makes him well-equipped to serve as Deputy Commander alongside the Commander, SSC, PN.

He further encouraged all Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resources to continue living the Command's core values of PACE—Proactive, Accountable, Committed, and Excellent—while embodying the spirit of FLYNavSEAS, emphasizing that although leaders may change, the mission of the Sea Systems Command remains constant.

HONORABLE SERVICE I SSC, PN Holds Retirement Ceremony for outgoing Deputy Commander

Fort San Felipe, Cavite City - The Sea Systems Command (SSC,PN) rendered a Testomonial Parade and Review and Retirement
Ceremony in honor of outgoing Deputy Commander, Commodore Sergio M Bartolome PN.

Rear Admiral Juario C Marayag, Commander, SSC, PN, presided over the ceremony held at West Commodore Posadas Wharf, Shipyard, Sea Systems Command, PN, on Friday, July 24.

After 33 years, 11 months, and 25 days of distinguished military service, Commo Bartolome PN concluded an exemplary naval career marked by unwavering commitment, exceptional professionalism, and steadfast devotion to duty.

During the retirement ceremony, RAdm Marayag PN, presented the Command Plaque and Plaque of Honorable Service to Commo Bartolome PN, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the Command. In addition, a Plaque of Appreciation was also presented to Mrs. Bartolome - in grateful recognition of her unwavering support, understanding, and sacrifices throughout her husband's military career.

In his message, RAdm Marayag PN expressed his sincere gratitude to Commo Bartolome for his dedicated military service. He commended him for his professionalism, exemplary leadership, and steadfast commitment to duty, which greatly contributed to the continued growth and mission accomplishment of the Sea Systems Command.

He likewise conveyed his appreciation to the Bartolome family, recognizing that every successful military career is sustained by the sacrifices, understanding, and unwavering support of loved ones.

"On behalf of every Officer, Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Human Resources, and every member of the Sea Systems Command family, thank you for your invaluable service to this Command, to the Philippine Navy, and to our country. To your family, we likewise extend our sincerest appreciation. Behind every successful military career is a family that quietly shares every sacrifice—the missed celebrations, the unexpected deployments, the long hours, and the many moments when duty had to come first. This afternoon's recognition belongs to you as much as it belongs to him. May Almighty God continue to bless you in this new chapter of your life. Muli, congratulations, Commo Bartolome PN. As they say, there are no goodbyes—only 'see you around.' Let us continue sailing forward, united in purpose, steadfast in duty, and committed to excellence."

In his farewell remarks, Commo Bartolome PN humbly acknowledged that his success was made possible through the guidance of Almighty God, the support of his family, and the encouragement of the many people who believed in him; and recognized his dedication and sacrifices throughout his years in uniform. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the officers, enlisted personnel, civilian human resources, and the entire Sea Systems Command family for their trust, support, and camaraderie throughout his career.

He encouraged everyone to continue upholding the Command's core values of PACE—Proactiveness, Accountability, Commitment, and Excellence—emphasizing that these principles should be reflected not only in words but in every decision, every action, and in every mission undertaken.
