Forging Readiness at Sea | ROKN Naval Logistics Commander Visits SSC, PN

Fort San Felipe, Cavite City – Rear Admiral Kim Kyung Cheol ROKN, Commander of the Republic of Korea Naval Logistics Command (ROKNLC), visited the Sea Systems Command, Philippine Navy (SSC, PN), and paid a Courtesy Call on the Commander, SSC, Rear Admiral Juario C Marayag PN on October 2.

Rear Admiral Kim ROKN was accorded with Arrival Honors with Commodore Santiago P Pacis Jr. PN, Deputy Commander, SSC, PN as Military Host, followed by the traditional signing of the Command’s Guestbook.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the ROKN and the Command to exchange insights on ship maintenance, technical assistance, spare parts availability, and supply support—key areas that contribute to sustaining the operational readiness and serviceability of Korean-built vessels.

The visit formed part of the continuing logistics cooperation between the ROKN and PN and preceded the 2026 International Naval Logistics and MRO Cooperation Forum, which the ROKN is scheduled to host in South Korea in November 2026.

The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of both navies to enhance logistics interoperability, sustain naval capabilities, and foster stronger defense cooperation in support of maritime security and operational readiness.

*HONORING SERVICE, CELEBRATING LEGACY | PH Navy Honors Retiring Civilians, Concludes Civil Service Celebration in Style*

In celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Philippine Navy honored its Civilian Human Resources (Civ HR) through a series of activities held on September 25, 2026, with Vice Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Q Ezpeleta PN, Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The morning’s Retirement Ceremony for retiring Civilian Human Resources paid tribute to 16 civilian personnel who reached the mandatory retirement age, recognizing their invaluable service, dedication, and commitment to the Philippine Navy throughout their years in government service.

In his message, Vice Admiral Ezpeleta recognized the civilian workforce as the organization’s institutional backbone, emphasizing their vital role in supporting the Navy’s mission. “You are the ones who are diligently working behind our mission accomplishments,” the PN chief said.
Vice Admiral Ezpeleta also expressed his gratitude to the retirees for their decades-long commitment to serving not only the Navy but also the Filipino people, with most of them having rendered more than 40 years of government service.

“You deserve to be celebrated,” Vice Admiral Ezpeleta said, as he extended his well wishes to the retirees: “Fair winds, clear skies, following seas, and fulfilling retirement.”

In the afternoon, the PN brought together its Civilian Human Resources for the Civ HR Fellowship 2026 at the PN Officers’ Club, Naval Station Jose Francisco, Taguig City, for an afternoon of camaraderie, appreciation, and shared service. This year’s “Enchanted Forest” theme set the stage for an afternoon of fellowship and celebration, marking the culmination of the month-long Civil Service celebration.

The celebration underscored the invaluable contributions of the Navy’s civilian workforce, whose dedication and commitment continue to strengthen the organization and support its mandate of serving the nation.

AFP, PNP, PCG Strengthen Joint Peace and Security Coordination

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), together with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), convened the 6th National Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC) Meeting on September 29 in Malate, Manila, to further strengthen inter-agency coordination and enhance the country’s peace, security, and defense posture.
