TALAKAG, BUKIDNON — Three members of the Militiang Bayan (MB) affiliated with the Sub-Regional Committee (SRC) 5 of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) voluntarily surrendered to the 1004th Maneuver Company in Bukidnon, bringing with them improvised fi****ms and ammunition.
The voluntary surrender took place at around 12:30 PM at the headquarters of the 1004th Maneuver Company in Tagbak, Talakag, Bukidnon. The surrenderers, composed of one male and two females, all residents of Talakag, yielded two improvised shotguns and one improvised handgun.
The surrender was facilitated by intelligence operatives of the 1004th Maneuver Company, with support from the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit (Buk PIU) and the Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Team (BUKPIT).
The voluntary surrender was the result of intensified intelligence-driven operations that weakened the influence of remaining Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) in the province and encouraged members to abandon armed struggle and return to the fold of the law.
This significant accomplishment is in alignment with the focused agenda of PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR, Chief PNP, and the operational guidance of PBGEN CHRISTOPHER NI ABRAHANO, Regional Director, PRO 10. It highlights the continuing efforts of the Philippine National Police to dismantle the remnants of CTG influence in Northern Mindanao, strengthen peace and order, and ensure the safety and security of communities.
