AVAC Meets with University of Cebu - Maritime Education and Training Center (UC-METC)

The Association of Voluntary Arbitrators in Central Visayas, Inc. (AVAC) met today with the Top Management of the University of Cebu Maritime Education and Training Center (UC-METC) Mambaling Campus.

AVAC President Atty. Carlo Pontico C. Fortuna, VP Atty. Jan Danelle A. Patindol, and Treasurer Atty. Geraldine E. Jorda together with NCMB Regional Branch VII SLEO Angeli T. Salgados, were warmly received by UC-METC Campus Director Capt. Gerry D. Enjambre, Dean of the College of Maritime Education Chief Mate Guillermo E. Diluvio Jr., and Campus HR Director Mr. Alvin D. Cuervo.

The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in promoting awareness of voluntary arbitration and labor relations among maritime students to better prepare them for the world of work, as well as reaching out to alumni who may be on board vessels or waiting to be deployed, reflecting AVAC’s commitment to supporting the maritime sector in Central Visayas.

The National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) Regional Branch VII received the Certificate of Recognition as Top Performing Agency from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) for Calendar Year 2025.

The recognition was awarded during the Agency Authorized Officers (AAOs) and Electronic Remittance File (ERF) Handlers' Re-Orientation Seminar held at One Central Hotel, Corner Leon Kilat, Sanciangko St., Cebu City.
