This Advisory partially removes the restrictions imposed by the Local Advisory issued on October 28, 2025, as a precautionary measure to protect public health from potential risks posed by contaminated seafood.
Based on the assessment conducted by the BFAR Region VII in coordination with the BFAR - National Fisheries Laboratory Division on November 14, 2025, ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฒ๐จ๐ ๐ก๐๐ฏ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง using a three-tiered procedure to detect the presence and intensity of any molasses taint.
Moreover, water analysis conducted on November 11-12, 2025, showed that water quality parameters are within acceptable limits and that no detectable levels of coliform bacteria were found.

The entrails must be removed, and the seafood must be thoroughly rinsed under running water prior to cooking.

Meanwhile, fish cage operators should secure stocks, as hypoxic conditions may emerge from blooms. Further updates will follow once the algal bloom subsides and the heavy metal analysis shows levels are below thresholds.
The BFAR, in collaboration with local government units (LGUs), will continue to regularly monitor the affected areas to maintain public health standards and support the fisheries industry.
