CMFC, September 3, 2026 -Amid recent shooting incidents reported in school campuses, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), through the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of the Cebu City Mobile Force Company (CMFC), conducted a lecture and security activity on School Threats and Active Shooter Response at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City.
Held from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the activity highlights the CCPOโs proactive approach to strengthening school security and enhancing the preparedness of students and school personnel in recognizing, reporting, and appropriately responding to potential threats.
The activity was conducted in response to the growing importance of heightened vigilance and preparedness within school communities, particularly amid recent incidents of violence in educational institutions. It emphasized that effective response to critical incidents requires not only police capability but also the awareness, cooperation, and preparedness of the entire school community.
Personnel of the SWAT Team, CMFC-CCPO, led by PCPT HARREN RALPH DESALES DUNTON, Chief, SWAT, under the direct supervision of PLTCOL CHRISTIAN JOY Q ALQUEZA, Force Commander, CMFC, CCPO, served as resource speakers during the activity.
The lecture highlighted early threat recognition, situational awareness, emergency response protocols, coordination with law enforcement authorities, and appropriate actions during active shooter and other critical incidents.
The SWAT Team also utilized an Alternative Recording Device (ARD) through the SWAT Innova Response Vehicle to support situational monitoring and further enhance operational readiness and security capability within its area of responsibility.
The activity concluded successfully, reinforcing the partnership between the CCPO and the academic community in promoting a safer and more secure learning environment. The Cebu City Police Office, through the Cebu City Mobile Force Company, remains committed to proactive security measures, strengthened police-community partnerships, and continuous preparedness to protect students, educators, and the wider community.
