The Cebu City Government joined government agencies, tourism leaders, business organizations, and private sector partners in the Project Mango Shake Workshop held on July 29, 2026, at the FILI Ballroom of NUSTAR Resort & Casino, reaffirming its commitment to collaborative efforts that will strengthen Cebu's position as a premier tourism and MICE destination.
Organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the workshop is part of the continuing consultation process for Project Mango Shake, an initiative launched during the MICE Tourism Summit of Cebu Business Month 2026. The project seeks to develop a unified destination brand that reflects Cebu's identity, culture, and world class tourism offerings through the collective participation of key stakeholders.
Representing the Cebu City Government was Ms. Shiela Grace Avanzado, Head of the Cebu City Tourism Office,Cebu City Tourism Commissioners Tetta Ba-ad, Alice Queblatin, Joey Gaisano, Bernard Sia and Marget Villarica. They participated in the discussions alongside representatives from national government agencies, neighboring local government units, tourism organizations, and business leaders. Her participation underscored the city's commitment to collaborating with stakeholders in shaping a unified destination brand that highlights Cebu's strengths and tourism potential.
During the workshop, CCCI President Regan Rex T. King emphasized that Cebu's strength lies in its diverse stories and the shared responsibility of bringing these together under one compelling destination brand. He stressed that meaningful collaboration among government, local communities, tourism stakeholders, and the business sector is essential in presenting a stronger and more unified identity for Cebu.
The workshop was hosted by NUSTAR Resort & Casino, whose officials expressed support for initiatives that promote Cebu's continued growth as a leading tourism and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) destination.
The Cebu City Government recognizes that a strong and unified destination brand contributes not only to tourism promotion but also to economic growth, investment opportunities, and job generation. Through partnerships with the public and private sectors, the city remains committed to supporting initiatives that showcase Cebu's unique heritage, vibrant culture, and world class experiences while advancing the vision of a Smart, Sustainable, and Inclusive Cebu.
