Bag-o lang gyud kining migawas nga balita—ang pagpirma sa Presidente sa maong balaodnon nga moresulta sa pag-postpone sa BSKE usa gyud ka butang nga angay atngan.

Karon, padulong na kita sa makapahinam nga bahin: ang pagpasaka og mga petisyon sa Korte Suprema...

As my term as a Barangay Councilor of Barangay Labangon for 2023–2026 comes to an end, I look back with a heart full of gratitude, pride, and deep fulfillment.

When I stepped into this role and took on the responsibility of leading the Committee on Education and Culture,
I knew the responsibility was huge.
In the past years, education had often received less priority, yet Barangay Labangon is home to almost 10,000 students whose dreams and futures deserve our attention.

With limited resources and budget, we found ways to make things work. Through the support of our NGOs, partners, volunteers, and community, we were able to turn limitations into opportunities.

During my term, the Committee on Education and Culture of Barangay Labangon became a home for those seeking support.

We may not have been able to give everything that every student or family needed, but we gave what we could, Our time, Our moral support, Our Initiatives, and most importantly, our commitment to serve.

It was not always an easy path. We faced challenges, competing political priorities, and limitations.
But our unwavering commitment to ensure that our community, especially our students and youth, were heard and cared for kept us moving forward.

I am immensely proud of what we accomplished together from our Arts Fair, the Tara Basa Tutoring Program, our various education initiatives, and our responses to concerns raised in every Sitio.

These efforts contributed to Barangay Labangon's recognition as an Outstanding LGU in 2024, a milestone that belongs not to one person, but to everyone who believed, participated, and worked with us.

Being the only woman in the Council was never a reason to step back. Instead, it became a reason to stand firmer in my advocacies and to continue being a voice for those who sometimes cannot speak for themselves.

Last July 2026, I also joined forces with the SK Chairman and Members in exercising our responsibility to check and balance the financial status of our Barangay.
It was part of our duty not to create conflict, but to uphold accountability, transparency, and our responsibility to the people we serve.

To our Barangay Captain We may not always be on the same side, but I hope you know that I was simply doing my job, fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to me by our constituents.

To my Barangay Labangon family, my fellow Councilors, Our hardworking Barangay Staff, Community leaders, volunteers, friends, and above all, my family and the people of Barangay Labangon.

Daghang kaayong salamat!

Your trust, cooperation, support, and concern were the backbone of everything we accomplished as a community.

I may not have been able to conquer every concern of every constituent, but I can wholeheartedly say that I served with honesty, sincerity, and all my heart.
I gave my best in every task and focused my efforts on strengthening the education sector and empowering our youth.

Positions and terms have an expiration date, but my dedication to Education, Youth Development, Child Welfare, Mental Health, Women's Support, and Solo Parents in Barangay Labangon will never end.

Public service is not defined by the position we hold or the length of our term. It is defined by the heart we give, the principles we stand for, and the lives we touch along the way.

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝗦𝗞𝗘: 𝗜-𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻?

Dili, ang Barangay ug Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) nga gikatakda karong Nobyembre 2026 wala pa opisyal nga gi-postpone, tungod kay ang House Bill No. 10971 dili pa usa ka balaod nga napirmahan.

Bisan tuod gi-aprobahan sa House of Representatives ang House Bill No. 10971 sa ikatulo ug katapusang pagbasa niadtong Septyembre 8, 2026, kinahanglan pa kini moagi sa kompleto nga proseso sa lehislatura una kini mahimong epektibo.

Karon nga Kahimtang sa Bill

- Unsay gisugyot sa bill: Kung mahimo kining balaod, itakda niini ang termino sa katungdanan sa mga opisyal sa barangay ug SK ngadto sa lima ka tuig ug opisyal nga ibalhin ang petsa sa sunod nga Barangay ug Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) ngadto sa ikaduhang Lunes sa Nobyembre 2028.

- Unsay sunod nga angay mahitabo: Kinahanglan nga ipasa sa Senado ang katugbang niini nga bill (Senate Bill No. 2387) sa ikatulo nga pagbasa. Dayon, husayon sa duha ka kapulungan ang bisan unsang mga kalainan pinaagi sa Bicameral Conference Committee una ipadala ang pinal nga bersyon ngadto kang Presidente Marcos Jr. alang sa iyang pirma.

Unsay ipasabot niini sa pagkakaron?

Tungod kay dili pa kini balaod, ang Commission on Elections (COMELEC) legal nga gimandoan sa pagpadayon sa tanang gikinahanglan nga mga pagpangandam aron ipahigayon ang eleksyon sumala sa orihinal nga iskedyul. Ang mga incumbent (naglingkod nga opisyal), mga kandidato, ug mga botante angay nga maglantaw sa umaabot nga eleksyon nga dayon o magpadayon hangtod nga opisyal nga pirmahan sa Presidente ang bill sa pag-postpone aron mahimo kining balaod.

SUSPENSION OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES for BASIC EDUCATION -
Due to the current Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching Unhealthy levels in Cebu City, face-to-face classes are SUSPENDED tomorrow, September 7, 2026, for all Basic Education levels (Kindergarten to Senior High School) in both public and private schools.
To ensure the continuity of learning while keeping our students safe:
* 📚 Modular distance learning will be implemented for tomorrow.
* 😷 Residents, especially children and vulnerable individuals, are advised to minimize outdoor exposure and wear protective masks when going outside.

1. DROP ON THE FLOOR WHEN YOU HEAR A
BANG IF THERE IS NO SCHEDULED SCHOOL FAIR
WITH FIREWORKS.

2. TAKE DEEP BREATHS;
INHALE-EXHALE TO RELEASE PANIC AND TONE
YOUR MUSCLES AND MAKE YOU FOCUS.

3. KNOW WHERE THE BANG IS COMING FROM TO GAUGE DISTANCE AND APPROACH.

4. EXECUTE A CONTROLLED PANIC EVACUATION ONCE YOU DETERMINE WHERE IS THE BANG AND CALMLY DIRECT YOUR TEACHER/CLASSMATES TO THE
EXIT.

5. LEAVE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS AS IS AND TAKE ONLY YOUR WALLET AND MOBILE PHONE.
IF IT TAKES TIME TO GET, LEAVE THEM.

6. BE IN THE CENTER OF THE CROWD AS YOUR GOAL IS
SURVIVAL. NEVER WAIT FOR ANYONE AND DON'T
BE LEFT ALONE.

7. DIRECT THE CROWD IF ALL
ARE PANICKING WITH A LOUD FIRM VOICE AS A
LOUD FIRM VOICE ENFORCES CROWD
OBEDIENCE.

8. ENSURE THAT YOU KNOW YOUR SCHOOL'S EXIT POINTS AND TOTALLY FOCUS TO LEAD THE CROWD TOWARDS THE SAFEST EXIT SIMULTANEOUSLY FOCUSING ON THE BANG IF IT IS STILL CONTINUING TO AVOID MEETING THE
SHOOTER.
