LOOK: In observance of World Day Against Trafficking (WDAT) 2026, the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking Region VII–Violence Against Women and Their Children (IACAT7-VAWC), co-chaired by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Bohol, hosted the World Day Against Trafficking 2026 Regional Culminating Activity on July 30, 2026, at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City.

The event marked a historic first for the province as IACAT7-VAWC council members and representatives from various local government units (LGUs) across Bohol gathered to reaffirm their shared commitment to zero tolerance against Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).

One of the event's highlights was the panel discussion, "Coffee Table Talk: Behind the Screen & Across the Seas," moderated by Assistant Regional Prosecutor Maria Luisa B. Ong of the Department of Justice Regional Office VII. Joining the discussion were Prosecutor Adolfo Doroy of the Department of Justice Regional Office VII, Ligaya Dael of DSWD FO 7, and Pamela Uy of Bidlisiw Foundation Inc. The panel explored key recommendations and innovative strategies to strengthen the region's efforts in preventing and responding to TIP and OSAEC.

The event also recognized the achievements of 42 LGUs and the Provincial Government of Bohol, which received a "High Functionality" rating in the Local Committee Against Trafficking–Violence Against Women and Their Children (LCAT-VAWC) assessment for Audit Year 2025.

To conclude the event, DSWD FO 7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III, delivered a video message that highlighted the importance of "pagpakabana" (mindfulness) and HAPSAY as guiding principles in the unified effort against TIP and OSAEC. She urged stakeholders to maintain their collaboration in creating safer communities that protect children, women, and other vulnerable groups from trafficking and exploitation.

LOOK: Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III, of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7—Central Visayas (DSWD-7) welcomed staff from the DSWD Central Office on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, for a courtesy call.

Project Development Officer (PDO) III Reymond R. Talento and PDO III Josiah Job P. Latade, of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program (SocPen), together with Nutritionist-Dietician IV and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) head Mary Grace G. Flores and PDO II Reiniel D. Allanic, for the SFP Batang Nutri-care implementation.

The visiting staff and DSWD-7 officials discussed the year's accomplishments of SocPen and SFP and mapped out the Central Office's monitoring visits to select local government units, ensuring that services continue to expand where they are needed most. The discussion underscored the shared commitment of the national and regional offices to strengthen program delivery and safeguard the welfare of senior citizens and children across Central Visayas.

Also present were Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jiah L. Sayson, Officer-in-Charge Division Chief of the Protective Services Division Clavel Saycon, and SFP Regional Focal Person Ma. Romilene C. Padilla and SocPen staff led by Alberto Cuevas. ❤️

LOOK: The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7—Central Visayas (DSWD-7), led by Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) Regional Focal Person Ma. Romilene C. Padilla, together with nutritionist-dietitian Rossiny Lim, conducted a courtesy visit to the mayor of Dalaguete. On July 28, 2026, the team visited the Rice-Monggo Processing Plant in Dalaguete, Cebu. During the visit, officials discussed LGU procurement options for the remaining 60 feeding days under the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP), exploring procurement through Community Participation and the Sagip Saka Act.

The Rice-Monggo Processing Plant is a community sub-project completed through the joint efforts of the community, the local government of Barangay Poblacion, and the Municipality of Dalaguete, in partnership with the KALAHI-CIDSS Multi-sectoral Nutrition Project of DSWD.

Through these activities, DSWD-7 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening community-based programs that promote food security and sustainable livelihoods across Central Visayas. ❤️

On the third day of the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF) Training, the Area Coordinating Team (ACT) personnel of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 KALAHI-CIDSS Panahon ng Pagkilos Philippine Community Resilience Project (PRCP) were oriented on the Water Code of the Philippines, Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) Preparation, and Cultural and Historical Heritage safeguards today, August 5, 2026.

The training aims to equip ACT personnel with the knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, policies, and safeguard requirements to ensure their proper application during the implementation of upcoming community subprojects.

During the session, Engr. Rommel M. Chua, the Environmental Safeguards Officer, led a session on how to prepare Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), which aimed to improve the participants' skills in creating ESMPs that meet the project's environmental and social protection standards, procedures, and tools.

Meanwhile, Engr. Sharon Escabarte, Social Safeguards Officer, discussed the importance of identifying and protecting cultural and historical heritage sites within project areas. She emphasized that early identification of these sites helps avoid potential damage, prevents implementation risks, and ensures that subprojects comply with safeguard requirements while preserving the community's cultural heritage.

The training reinforces the commitment of DSWD Field Office 7 to ensuring that ACT personnel are well-equipped to implement resilient, environmentally sound, and socially responsible community subprojects under the Philippine Community Resilience Project.

Rodelio Angcahan, a community volunteer of KALAHI-CIDSS in Barangay Cansayahon, Ronda, voluntarily donated a 500-meter portion of his property to the local government unit for the construction of an access road. His generous contribution has provided the community with a safer and more convenient route for transporting agricultural products and other goods to the market. Before the road was built, residents faced significant difficulties due to the lack of road access, especially during the rainy season when the route became muddy and unsafe.

To safeguard the completed subproject, the Barangay Council approved Barangay Council Resolution No. 3, Series of 2026, declaring the access road as barangay property and authorizing DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS to use the donated land for its construction. The barangay facilitated the annotation of the donated lot on the land title, ensuring the road remains protected and dedicated for public use.
