CEBU CITY DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE Task Force Iligan – Bagyong Basyang Response
In the spirit of inter-city solidarity, the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO), under the direction of the Cebu City Government, has mobilized a specialized rescue and relief contingent to Iligan City. This deployment follows the severe flash flooding caused by Tropical Storm Basyang (International Name: Penha) on February 5-6, 2026, which prompted Iligan to declare a State of Calamity.
While Cebu City was also affected by the storm, the "Red Alert" status was lowered once the storm veered away, allowing the city to pivot its resources toward harder-hit neighbors in Northern Mindanao.
