LOOK: With hearts full of pride and eyes bright with hope, the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC II) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 – Central Visayas (DSWD-7) celebrated its Commencement Exercises on May 15, 2026, at the covered court of the AVRC II Compound, under the theme "Rising Beyond Limits: Creating Ability, Resilience, and New Opportunities."
Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III, delivered the opening message, while Ms. Josephine Akiatan and Ms. Priscilla Gayas represented TESDA Regional Office VII Regional Director Engr. Gamaliel B. Vicente Jr., CESO III, who served as the keynote speaker.
The candidates for graduation were proudly presented before the audience, marking the culmination of their hard work and perseverance. One by one, certifications and awards were placed in the hands of trainees who refused to let their circumstances define their future.
Eleuterio Queliste Jr. spoke on behalf of his fellow awardees in a heartfelt expression of gratitude, while Junard Bergoso of Alumni Batch 2010 reminded the graduates that the path they now walk has been traveled before—and that what lies ahead is worth every step. The program was ably led by Masters of Ceremony Ivan A. Vitor and Maria Jessa B. Labra.
Behind every accomplishment is a team that makes it possible. Center Head Dr. Jera C. Armendarez, MD, MPH, MDM, together with the dedicated staff of AVRC II, ensured that every detail of the celebration was carried out with care and excellence—a reflection of their commitment to the clients they serve.
True to its theme, this milestone stands as a powerful reminder that limits are not walls but starting points—and that DSWD-7 remains steadfast in its belief that every person, given the right support, is capable of building a life of dignity and purpose.
