Balabagon Elementary School celebrates the achievement of campus journalist, Annica Moreigh B. Pocong, who bagged the 1st Place in News Writing (Filipino) and 6th Place in Sports Writing (Filipino) during the 2025 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held in Argao, Cebu last December 1–5.

Annica’s participation was guided by her coach, Ms. Fe-Marie V. Culpable, who is also the School Paper Adviser of LUPAD, the official school publication of Balabagon Elementary School. The participation of both campus journalists and coach was given full support by Mr. Dennis Q. Cañete, the school principal.

Annica competed alongside another campus journalist, Asirah Lexi T. Hairston, who also represented the school in the same event. Both participants competed against more than 7,300 campus journalists from both public and private schools across Cebu Province.

This year marks the second time that Balabagon Elementary School joined the DSPC, following its first participation in February. With her first-place finish, Annica is set to represent the Division of Cebu Province in the regional competition next year.
