The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VII successfully conducted a Mini Sports Fest, dubbed Laro ng Lahi, as part of the celebration of CHED's 32nd Anniversary with the theme, โThriving Together Through Sports: Championing Health, Wellness, and Unity.โ
The activity brought together CHED RO VII personnel in a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and team-building activities that fostered camaraderie, wellness, and unity among employees.
The program commenced with a mini parade led by Regional Director Filomena T. Dayagbil, followed by the presentation of team yells from the four participating teamsโRed, Blue, Orange, and Yellow. The raising of team banners further energized the participants and showcased the spirit and enthusiasm of each group.
The celebration then proceeded with the game proper, featuring traditional Filipino games under both men's and women's categories. Participants competed in various events such as Takyan, Hula Hoop, Dama, Sungka, Dampa, Litik, Charades, and Jackstone, highlighting teamwork, strategy, agility, and sportsmanship.
Adding excitement to the event was a singing competition where each team performed a Cebuano song, allowing employees to showcase their musical talents while celebrating the regionโs rich cultural heritage.
In her message, Regional Director Dr. Filomena T. Dayagbil emphasized that the strength of the Commission lies in the diversity and uniqueness of its people. She noted that every individual plays an essential role in the organization and that CHED would not be complete without the contribution of each employee.
She further underscored the importance of embracing one anotherโs differences, recognizing that these unique qualities collectively contribute to the success of the organization. Dr. Dayagbil also highlighted the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie, encouraging everyone to continue working together toward a stronger and more united CHED community.
The Mini Sports Fest served not only as a celebration of CHED's 32 years of service but also as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen bonds among employees while promoting health, wellness, and unity within the organization.
