LIVESTOCK MONITORING IN FLOOD-PRONE BARANGAYS

The City Veterinary Office conducted livestock monitoring in various flood-prone barangays in response to the continued Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and persistent rainfall. The activity was conducted in coordination with Barangay Captains, Farmers’ Association Presidents, and livestock raisers to assess the health, safety, and welfare of livestock and provide appropriate guidance and recommendations.

📌 Paalala sa mga livestock raisers: Panatilihing tuyo at malinis ang kulungan, tiyaking may sapat na pagkain at malinis na tubig, at agad na ihiwalay ang mga hayop na may sakit. Ilipat ang mga alagang hayop sa ligtas at mataas na lugar upang maprotektahan ang kanilang kalusugan, kaligtasan, at kapakanan. 💚

PAALALA SA ATING MGA ALAGANG HAYOP

Dahil sa patuloy na pag-ulan dulot ng Habagat, panatilihing tuyo ang kulungan, malinis ang pagkain at tubig, at agad na ihiwalay ang mga may sakit.

May preemptive evacuation sa mga low-lying barangays. Pakitiyak na mailipat ang mga alagang hayop sa mataas at ligtas na lugar.

PAALALA MULA SA CITY GOVERNMENT OF VIGAN SA PAMAMAGITAN NG CITY VETERINARY OFFICE

Dahil sa nararanasang bagyo, pinapaalalahanan ang lahat ng pet owners at livestock raisers na:

• Ilagay ang mga alagang hayop sa ligtas, matibay, at tuyong silungan.
• Tiyaking may sapat na pagkain at malinis na inuming tubig ang mga ito.
• Kung kinakailangang lumikas, isama ang inyong mga alagang hayop kung maaari. Kung hindi ito posible, tiyaking nasa ligtas na lugar sila at may sapat na pagkain at inuming tubig.
• Iwasang itali o iwan ang mga hayop sa mga lugar na maaaring bahain o malantad sa malakas na hangin at ulan.

Ang kaligtasan ng ating mga alagang hayop ay bahagi ng ating paghahanda at pagtugon sa sakuna.

Maging alerto. Manatiling ligtas.

Ilang karaniwan at mahahalagang paalala para sa kaligtasan ng mga alagang hayop sa panahon ng bagyo:

1. Dalin sa mataas at ligtas na lugar ang ating mga alagang hayop. Ilikas ng mas maaga ang mga alagang hayop kung kinakailangan.
2. Siguraduhing may maayos at matibay na tirahan laban sa ulan, hangin at lamig ng bagyo.
3. Siguraduhin na may sapat at malinis na pakain at tubig.
4. Siguraduhin ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng ating mga alagang hayop.

Sa pamamagitan ng maagang paghahanda at tamang kaalaman, makakasiguro tayo sa kaligtasan ng mga alagang hayop sa panahon ng bagyo. Huwag kalimutan na sila ay parte ng pamilya.

Livestock Vet Mission 2026

The City Veterinary Office successfully carried out its annual Livestock Vet Mission across the farming barangays of Vigan City on May 11- 26, 2026, bringing essential veterinary services closer to our livestock raisers and farming communities.

Services provided included:
Consultation and treatment
Deworming
Vitamin administration
Ear tagging
Castration

This initiative aims to advance livestock productivity and promote animal welfare through sustainable veterinary services, disease prevention, and farmer education.
