📌 1st Quarter MDRRMC Meeting | March 24, 2026

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) successfully convened its 1st Quarter Meeting today, March 24, 2026. The meeting highlighted key updates, ongoing programs, and collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation within the municipality.

The Council expresses its sincere appreciation to all members and partner agencies for their active participation and unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety, resilience, and well-being of the community.

🚑 Spine Board Management Demonstration 🚒

Earlier today, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Claveria actively participated in the BFP Fire Square Road Show conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection – Claveria Fire Station as part of the celebration of Fire Prevention Month.

During the activity, MDRRMO personnel conducted a Spine Board Management Demonstration, showcasing the proper procedures in handling and immobilizing patients with suspected spinal injuries. Participants were able to learn the correct techniques in patient assessment, cervical spine stabilization, proper positioning on the spine board, and safe lifting and transport to prevent further injury.

This initiative aims to strengthen community awareness and equip participants with essential life-saving skills in times of emergencies and disasters.

Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important activity in promoting safety, preparedness, and community resilience.

📢 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

Earlier today, March 12, 2026 at 3:30 PM, the MDRRMO conducted the 1st Quarter NSED at Balete Elementary School, Brgy. Imelda, Claveria, Masbate. 🏫

The activity was conducted with the school community led by School Head Mr. Miguel Montenegro III, together with teachers, students, and partner agencies to strengthen earthquake preparedness through the Drop, Cover, and Hold procedure. ⛑️

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Municipal Mayor Hon. Karen M. Ballesteros and MDRRMO-Designate Engr. Mark A. Peralta, Sir Franc Thomas De Sagun (DILG), and Punong Barangay Jocelyn Ybañez together with the Barangay Officials and Tanods of Brgy. Imelda for their support. 🙏

Special thanks as well to our partner agencies BFP, PNP, and PCG for their assistance in making this activity successful. 🚒👮‍♂️🚤

Issued by PAGASA – Southern Luzon Regional Services Division (SLPRSD) 🌧️

Based on the latest PAGASA weather advisory, Masbate Province, including the Municipality of Claveria, is currently under an ORANGE Rainfall Warning due to intense to heavy rainfall.

🟠 ORANGE Rainfall Warning means:
• Heavy rains (15–30 mm per hour) are expected
• Flooding is threatening in low-lying and flood-prone areas
• Landslides are possible in mountainous and landslide-prone areas

📌 Public Advisory:
Residents are strongly advised to remain alert, continuously monitor official weather updates, and prepare for possible evacuation if conditions worsen. Avoid unnecessary travel, especially near rivers, creeks, and slopes.

📢 Please coordinate with your barangay officials and follow instructions from local authorities.

Batay sa pinakahuling Weather Advisory ng DOST–PAGASA, inaasahan ang patuloy na malalakas hanggang sa matinding pag-ulan at malalakas na bugso ng hangin sa Lalawigan ng Masbate dulot ng Bagyong ADA.

Ang mga kondisyong ito ay maaaring magdulot ng pagbaha, flash floods, storm surge, at pagguho ng lupa, partikular sa mga mababang lugar, baybaying komunidad, at bulubunduking bahagi ng lalawigan.
Bilang pag-iingat at upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng lahat:
📌 SUSPENDIDO ang mga klase sa lahat ng antas, pampubliko at pribado, sa buong Lalawigan ng Masbate ngayong Biyernes, Enero 16, 2026 hanggang Sabado, Enero 17, 2026, epektibo simula alas-12:00 ng tanghali.

Mahigpit na pinapayuhan ang publiko na:
✅ Manatili sa ligtas at matibay na lugar
