This time, Compostela Fire Station personnel engaged in an exciting game of pickleball, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, camaraderie, and overall wellness among personnel. Regular physical activities help ensure that our firefighters remain physically fit, mentally resilient, and always prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and serve the community with excellence.

The Compostela Fire Station proudly celebrates the successful first harvest from our station garden!

After weeks of hard work and dedicationβ€”from landscaping the garden, enriching the soil with fertilizer, planting seeds, watering the young sprouts, and providing continuous careβ€”we are delighted to reap the fruits of our labor with our very first harvest of water spinach (kangkong).

To make the occasion even more special, FO1 Laroga and FO2 Comendador prepared delicious homemade dishes using our freshly harvested produce, including water spinach salad and water spinach stew. This milestone reflects our commitment to sustainability, teamwork, and promoting healthy living within the station.

Small seeds, when nurtured with patience and perseverance, grow into meaningful accomplishments. Here’s to many more bountiful harvests ahead! πŸŒΏπŸ’š

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, station personnel participated in a series of activities, including physical fitness exercises, BLOWBAGETS, spiritual enhancement, fire hydrant testing, skills enhancement training, and hose mapping. These activities are designed to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of firefighters while reinforcing teamwork, discipline, operational efficiency, and readiness to respond to any emergency.

Throughout the workweek, our personnel actively participate in the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, Ranks and Barracks Inspection, Weekly Bible Study, Fire Safety Inspections, Mangrove Planting and Coastal Cleanup, Physical Fitness Activities, Fire Safety Education and Drills, and Berong’s Free Food Friday. These programs enhance the physical, mental, moral, and spiritual well-being of our personnel while fostering teamwork, discipline, professionalism, and operational excellence in the performance of their duties.

Held every Friday at 1500H, this continuing outreach program provides free food to at least 100 beneficiaries each week. More than simply sharing food, the initiative embodies the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to compassionate public service by extending care, support, and hope to members of the community.

Since its launch on January 2, 2026, Berong’s Free Food Friday has grown into a meaningful weekly tradition in the Municipality of Compostela. Through this initiative, the Compostela Fire Station continues to strengthen its partnership with the community, demonstrating that the role of every firefighter goes beyond emergency responseβ€”it is also about uplifting lives through kindness, generosity, and genuine public service.
