Cabangahan Elementary School

Cabangahan Elementary School This page is for our stakeholders, partners, parents, alumni and pupils to be updated in every annou Eventually, it continues to grow up until now.

Cabangahan Elementary School has been in existence since 1930’s. It is located around 5 kilometers from Consolacion Municipal Hall. It can be found on the main road near the boundary between Consolacion and Pit-os, Cebu City. The school itself is a heritage because it is constructed before the World War II and built by the Americans which is made of “Yakal” wood. In fact the government is planning

to restore the old building to preserve its historical values. Through the years, Cabangahan Elementary School produced many pupils who became professional. The school has three old buildings with nine existing classrooms, four new donated buildings with five existing classrooms and one temporary classroom for kindergarten that caters more than 500 pupils from Cabangahan and neighboring barangays. Washing area and gymnasium with a basketball court and a stage is also available in the school. Math and science equipment are stored in the office since library is not available. In spite of its reputation and historical values, the school does need a lot of improvement and facilities such as adequate comfort room, water supply, internet connection and additional building for the classroom, library and canteen. The school source of electricity is coming from Visayan Electric Company (VECO) and is paid through MOOE/SEF. Water supply is coming from 7H water supply that is paid through MOOE/SEF as well. However, it is insufficient due to poor service. In lieu of this, pupils fetch water from the well outside the school premises. It has no telephone and internet access but the source of internet is through pocket wifi that is charged through MOOE/SEF with limited access. Because of this, teachers provide their own internet services. Cabangahan Elementary School encouraged parents-teachers collaboration by attending and joining school activities and community linkages. For the continuous personal growth and professional learning and improvement, teachers undergo trainings and seminars like how to conduct first aid and are grouped into different Risk Reduction Disaster Team. Pupils as well are exposed to trainings such as earthquake drill, drug symposium, fire prevention and campaign against bullying. This makes the school safe and child-friendly institute.

"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow." -Anthony J. D'Angelo

Kudos to these learners who persevere and reap the fruit of their labor. We really appreciate your love of learning and for coming to school even when it is raining. We are also grateful to the parents who gave their full support in sending their children at school. These pupils also motivated and inspired teachers to be more passionate and dedicated to teach especially in the coming school year 2024-2025.

Our school headed by Mrs. Editha G. Inocando, is truly grateful for the PNP RTC 7 for their Enhanced Community Immersion Program in our school. They help our learners in Grade 5 and Grade 6 to understand the negative effects of using prohibited drugs as well as giving an orientation about bullying, entertained our Grade 1 learners during their feeding program and give them slippers, and free haircut service. They also help our surroundings clean and with their presence, our learners are motivated and inspired to become like them in the future.
