It is composed of 7puroks and 2 sitios namely sitio Billang & Sitio Maggay. Bordered on the north by barangay Sagat, Barangay Calimaturod on the south, barangay Malapat on the east and sitio Guribang on the west. It has a land area of 676,9368 hectares on a 90% plain and 10% mountainous terrain. It is a 4 kilometer travel to the town proper of Cordon and Quirino Province. It has a population of 2
335 composed of 1175 males and 1160 females comprising total household of 584. Dialects spoken are Ilokano, tagalog, Ifugao and others. Of the registered voter as of October 28, 2013 totaling 1,312, 1,018 actually voted, 294 did not vote with 7 precincts 42A, 42B, 43A, 44A, 45A, 46A and 47A. The main source of livelihood are farming, labor and employment. The farmers produced rice and corn twice a year with the National Irrigation Administration as the major source of irrigation system thereby benefitting farmers. Tilapia production is also available in at least 12 fishponds . There are also poultry and livestock production as other source of livelihood. As to manufacturing and commercial establishments maintained in the barangay there are wooden furnitures , 3 bakeries, 1 grocery store, 50 sari-sari stores and 1 gasoline station. As to health facilities and services, Gayong has its health center housed within the barangay hall where a midwife, BNS and 3 BHW attend the needs of their constituents. An educational facilities, there are three (3) schools that cater to the needs of pupils and students of Gayong. The Day Care Center attends to pre-schoolers , Gayong El;ementary School to elementary and intermediate pupils and CAGASAT National High School for High School students from Calimaturod, Gayong, Sagat and other neighboring barangay who cannot afford private education. The peace and order situation is being maintained within the barangay by the newly formed barangay Tanod Brigade and Lupon Tagapamayapa. Sports and recreation are made possible with the presence of AmphiTheater with basketball court and multi purpose pavements with basketball courts where Sangguniang Kabataan spend their weekend and during sports competitions. On water and electric supply the barangay potable water comes from shallow deep wells and households who are enjoying electricity was supplied by ISELCO. Barangay Gayong annually received Internal Revenue Allotment of which priority projects funded out of the 20% EDF includes road maintenance, provision for medical supplies, assistance to schools and Senior Citizens Livelihood programs and other miscellaneous projects.
