Hon. Rosalie "Mommy Rose" A. Salvame, Representative of the First Congressional District of Palawan, recently conducted an official visit to the Coron School of Fisheries (CSF) on August 13, 2026 to personally turnover much-needed digital equipment aimed at enhancing the institution's educational facilities.

During her visit, Representative Salvame handed over one television unit and a complete computer set, provided through the support of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). The donation is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen technology-driven learning and modern resources for students in the district.

During the turnover, CSF school administrators expressed their gratitude to Representative Salvame and PAGCOR.

Representative Salvame reaffirmed her commitment to prioritizing education and rural development across the First District, emphasizing the need to prepare Palawanโ€™s youth for the future.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika 2026, nagkakaisa ang iba't ibang departamento ng Coron School of Fisheries sa pagtataguyod ng wikang Filipino bilang mahalagang bahagi ng ating kultura, kasaysayan, at pagkakakilanlan.

Mula sa iba't ibang larangan ng edukasyonโ€”Wika-Filipinp, Agham, Sining, Teknolohiya, Araling Panlipunan, Edukasyong sa Pagpapakatao, at Bokasyonal na Edukasyonโ€”iisa ang ating mensahe: ang pagpapahalaga sa sariling wika ay susi sa paghubog ng mga mag-aaral na makabayan, mapanuri, at handang makipagsabayan sa pandaigdigang komunidad.

In an effort to heighten campus safety and bolster disaster resilience, the Coron School of Fisheries, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Coron Fire Station, successfully conducted its School Emergency Response Plan (SERP) and School Emergency Response Team (SERT) training for Calendar Year 2026 from August 1 to 2, 2026.

The two-day joint initiative brought together school personnel and students to enhance institutional readiness against natural disasters, fires, and unexpected campus emergencies.

Expert personnel from BFP-Coron led comprehensive workshops and practical simulations tailored for the school community. The training covered crucial disaster management modules, including immediate hazard assessment, basic fire safety and suppression techniques, emergency first aid, search and rescue protocols, and orderly campus evacuation procedures.

Through this successful partnership with BFP-Coron, the Coron School of Fisheries reinforces its dedication to maintaining a safe, secure, and disaster-resilient learning environment for its entire academic community.

The official induction and oathtaking ceremony for the newly elected Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) officers of Coron School of Fisheries (CSF) for the School Year 2026โ€“2027 was successfully held on August 3, 2026, at the CSF E-Learning Room.

The event marked a key milestone in strengthening the partnership between the school administration, educators, and the parent body to foster a supportive learning environment for students the whole school year.

Representatives from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) MIMAROPA visited the Coron School of Fisheries (CSF) on August 6, 2026, to conduct a comprehensive orientation on BFAR scholarship programs and evaluate the institutionโ€™s current fishery facilities.

The visit kicked off with an orientation for Grade 12 students specializing in Aquaculture and Food Processing. During the orientation, BFAR officials outlined various scholarship opportunities, eligibility requirements, and potential career pathways designed to support aspiring professionals in the fisheries and aquatic sectors. The initiative aims to encourage young talents to pursue higher education and build careers that support regional food security and coastal management.

Following the student orientation, the visitors from BFAR MIMAROPA convened at the Admin Building for a key meeting with CSF administrators and faculty. The discussion focused on evaluating and assessing the schoolโ€™s fishery facilities. This assessment is expected to guide and strengthen practical training environments for students.

The visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between BFAR MIMAROPA and local academic institutions to enhance fishery education and empower the next generation of aquatic resource managers in Palawan.

The Coron School of Fisheries joined the Province-Wide Clean-Up Drive on July 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. as part of the Resilience Month of Disaster Risk Reduction Management. Spearheaded by Engr. Lopez, the Local Government Unit (LGU), along with the various government agencies and members of the community worked together to clean the creek within the school premises and promote environmental responsibility.

The participants cleaned up litter and other waste materials from the creek to restore the natural water flow and reduce the risk of flooding. They also promoted proper waste disposal and raised public awareness of environmental preservation and disaster risk reduction through the clean-up campaign.

By working together, the participating sectors showed their shared commitment to preserving the environment and creating a community that is safer, cleaner and more resilient to disasters.

The campus has received new equipment to improve school facilities.

Four new HP air conditioning units have been delivered to the Computer Laboratory. The new units will keep the lab cool and comfortable while protecting the computers from overheating.

In addition, the campus acquired a brand-new grass cutter for campus beautification.

Both upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to maintain a comfortable and clean environment across the campus.

A new wave of student leadership officially took oath at the Coron School of Fisheries following a formal induction program and oath-taking ceremony held just before the flag-lowering ceremony on Friday, July 17, 2026.

The event brought together newly elected and appointed student-leaders representing various campus clubs,organizations, and classroom officers, all pledging their commitment to serve the school community for the current academic year.

Sir Victor B. Salvaleon, Head Teacher VI and the Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Vocational School Administrator, spearheaded the ceremony and administered the official oath of office.

The induction of the club and classroom officers completes the school's student governance lineup for the year. This follows the earlier oath-taking of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers, who officially assumed their roles on June 22, 2026.
