๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ โSpeaker Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., welcomed government officials, industry experts, ICT leaders, and stakeholders during the 2nd Bangsamoro Parliament Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Summit held on June 8, 2026, at the KCC Convention Hall
The summit, organized by the Parliamentโs Management Information System Division (MISD) in observance of ICT Month, served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, promote digital transformation and innovation, and highlight the critical role of ICT in advancing parliamentary development.
In his welcome address, Speaker Yacob underscored the growing importance of technology in modern governance, describing the summit as a testament to the Bangsamoroโs readiness to embrace the opportunities of the digital age.

He emphasized that ICT has become indispensable in building a governance system that is efficient, transparent, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the people. He likewise recognized the efforts of the MISD in bringing together key stakeholders to foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful partnerships that contribute to sustainable development.
The Speaker also highlighted the transformative role of ICT in parliamentary development, noting that digital solutions can improve legislative processes through greater efficiency, accessibility, accountability, and citizen participation.

Yacob further stressed that digital transformation goes beyond technology and infrastructure, emphasizing its role in creating opportunities for the youth, empowering communities, enhancing public service delivery, and ensuring inclusive development across the Bangsamoro.
He concluded by calling on participants to strengthen solidarity, harness innovation, and work together toward a future where technology serves as a bridge to peace, development, and shared prosperity.
The one-day summit gathered representatives from various government offices, ICT practitioners, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to discuss emerging technologies, digital governance initiatives, and strategies for building a resilient and future-ready Bangsamoro.
