The Ministry of Health โ BARMM, through the Population Division under the Adolescent Health and Development Program (AHDP), conducted the Annual Assessment of Adolescent-Friendly Health Facilities (AFHFs) in Cotabato City and the Special Geographic Area on April 20โ24, 2025.
The activity focused on assessing the implementation of youth-friendly health services, particularly in ensuring accessibility, confidentiality, respect, and quality of care for adolescents. It also reviewed the performance of health facilities in delivering services related to nutrition, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health.
The assessment served as a key mechanism in strengthening adolescent health services and ensuring continuous improvement across health facilities in the region.
The activity also encouraged health facilities to attain Level 2 accreditation, with continued support and guidance from the MOH-Population Division, Special Geographic Area โ Field Health Office, and Cotabato City Health Office, in strengthening the delivery of adolescent-friendly health services.
The monitoring of the activity was undertaken by Jeremy Toledo, AHDP Coordinator, and Princess Salsam N. Ampatuan, AHDP Assistant, from the Population Division.
The MOH-Population Division remains committed to enhancing adolescent health programs and services in the Bangsamoro region.
